Ron Paul Wins The ATS Straw Poll!

In commanding fashion, and as everyone expected, Ron Paul won the first-ever ATS Republican Straw poll with a staggering 83.2% of the 17,783 votes (12,865 from non-members) received in 48 hours. From a purely statistical standpoint, as far as the members and visitors of ATS are concerned, no other candidate matters. But while the candidate poll results may not be a surprise for regular visitors of ATS, the follow-up questions regarding the reasons for the various choices make for some compelling comparisons and perhaps some productive contemplation... or at least we can hope.

Most excellent. I hope that this will be an indicator of what is to be in the next real election. Ron Paul has my vote, that is for sure!

Please tell me I'm not the only one that's not suprised at this result.

I didn't partake because I'm not a republican, I didn't want to choose the lesser of 12 evils.

excellent Ron paul is the only real hope America has overlord has a Canadian i support him we need politicians like him here.

I love these polls, but it would also be nice if the graphs included actual numbers instead of just percentages.

I'm not a republican either but I thought it was important. Keep in mind that every election, you are choosing the lesser of the evils so it shouldn't have felt new to you. Fortunately, I live in one of the smart states that don't force you to vote for the party you are registered for.

Interesting results, but I didn't partake in this poll since I'm not actually American. The "electability" is an interesting marker. Notice how the Sarah Palin voters think she is a lot more electable than Ron Paul, even though she's probably worse in every other aspect.

Incredible..Just as I thought it would go for the most part....Though I was thinking Herman Cain would place a tiny bit higher.

Id love to see this poll get noticed.....But the way the MSM is ignoring Ron Paul.....

The people that voted for Sarah Palin should be banned from the forum life.

Good point, It would be interesting to see the numbers as well as the percentages. I guess I could do the math and figure it out, but.... It's math....

I am a liberal independant and I'm going in for Dr Paul. His message transcends party affiliation.

Haha.. yeah definitely figured that. Hopefully all these RP voters will get out and campaign for the man.
Also those graphics are nice.

We need to do this with the democratic candidates to, when ever it is time.
