Can we have one thread on this site that can discuss a political issue without turning into a republican vs. democrat mud fight? I don't understand how people can't see that it is just a big theatrical puppet show.

Obama is pulling the same crap that Bush pulled, and he was doing the same things that Clinton was doing. And so on and so forth for as long as anyone can remember.

Do you people really not see this? Or are you just being willfully blind and ignorant? Allegedly members of ATS are supposed to be open minded critical thinkers. But the vast majority here seem to have their blinders on.

The sooner people figure this out and stop eating the BS that is being spoon-fed to them the sooner we can start to get things turned around. But that isn't going to happen anytime soon. This country is so screwed.

Screw the Republicans.
Screw the Democrats.
Screw the Tea Party.

Vote Ron Paul

Agreed. Both parties are two heads of the same snake although some still see two snakes. It is a game that people somehow believe in. Presidents are also selected instead of elected.

Thank you for the thread. Hopefully many will see this. The Bloodlines who rule the world love to use divide and conquear. People fight back and forth while the Elite carry on doing their evil deeds.

Peace to you.

I think I presented my point clearly.

It may be more of a rant, but I believe it belongs in this forum.

He is running as a republican, but he has almost nothing in common with the rest of them.

The republican establishment pretty much wants nothing to do with him, and ignores him whenever they have the chance.

Almost all his votes have been along republican lines. I'd say he is very much like them.

What is different about him?

The problem is to many peoples lives are at stake due to the entitlements they think they are are due, without paying for them.

Then there are those who did pay and expect to be recompensed.

I hate to say it, but it will never stop until there is war that effects everyone.

Agreed. Unfortunately, I cannot accept that we in the US live in a democracy anyway. Truthfully, it is designed and carried out ostensibly more as a republic with representatives deciding what the people truly want. Further however, we see that labels such as "right", "left", "republican", "democrat", etc are little more than that....labels. Few, if any of these anointed representatives actually exhibit anything more than a willingness to sell their legislative vote to the highest bidder for their own greater good. How many republicans and how many democrats actually respond to the public's best interests, right and wrong, or even common sense?

To compare some of these people's derelict behavior (voting record) to their party's supposed ideology is a terrible slander towards the true derelicts of the world.

Unfortunately, I think you are right.

Nothing will change until the food stamps and wellfare checks stop going out. Even then I think someone will come up with a quick fix, and it will be business as usual.

I would gladly give up my military pension if I could find a job that pays the bills. The pension doesn't do very well. But it does make ends meet...barely.

After four months, I'm still unemployed. Heck, I can't even find volunteer or unpaid intern work.

A sad state of affairs indeed.

I think that the majority of people are content to let their representatives or the TV think for them. (If it's on the "News" it must be true)

Yes, This is why I think all political parties should be abolished and banned.

And lobbyists not allowed within 1 mile of any government building, local, state or federal.

[more

What you say is correct however it is not that simple. There is a true divide in this country and it is between those who believe in freedom and those who believe it is ok to have government steal for them. Both parties steal from the people however as long as we have half or more believing it is ok to have government steal then the Republicrats will be able to exploit that divide by playing both sides. That is what you see here. Republican generally represent the side that doesn't like stealing and democrats the other side. Even though both are thieves the labels have stuck.

So until a majority of people realize it is not ok for government to steal from me to give to my nieghbor we will always have this divide regardless of the labels. We have varying degrees of this too some think it ok to steal a little to fund government others think it ok to steal the moon to fund every asinine idea politicians and marxists can come up with.

How many republicans and how many democrats actually respond to the public's best interests...

Since the Federal Reserve Act was passed in 1913
1933 - Congressman McFadden - shot twice then poisoned
1917 - Congressman Lindbergh - printing plates of two books he wrote distroyed by government agents. His son "Lucky Lindy" was urged by popular support to run for President so his child was kidnapped and murdered.
Justice

1932 - Congressman Wright Patman, (D) he then went on to fully support FDR the banker puppet and remained in Congress.

1985 - Rep. Henry Gonzalez (D)

...González became known for his liberal views. In 1963, Rep. Ed Foreman (R-Texas) called González a "communist" and a "pinko" ... González chaired the United States House Select Committee on Assassinations that investigated the deaths of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. He introduced legislation calling for the impeachment of Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush. González also blocked hearings into Whitewater.... en.wikipedia.org...

Justice Martin Mahoney found AGAINST the Morgan bank in First National Bank of Montgomery vs. Daly (1969) based on the grounds that there was no consideration for the loan. The case set a precedence for nullifying all loans made with zero reserve. He was poisoned within six months.

I was told that the welfare system is a tool used to divert attention away from the ultra rich who are the ones that are the real problem... They are good at what they do to stay in power or the average citizen that votes and uses labels like red, blue, left, right or socialist, patriotic are just stupid... I know what the ultra rich think of the average voter that votes against there own well being and rights. They may be correct.
