Mexico seizes over 800 tonnes of meth chemicals

(Reuters) - The Mexican army has seized just under 840 metric tonnes of chemicals used for manufacturing methamphetamine in a raid in central Mexico, one of the biggest finds of its kind ever made in the country.

Seized was 787 tonnes of phenylacetamide and 52.5 tonnes of tartaric acid, all in 25 kilogram (55 pound) packets.

In this story it is unclear whether or not they were attempting to make Meth there or whats more likely just sell the raw product to addicts who cook their own...

all I can say is damn... that's a lot of drugs... no wonder we cant stop the cartels... Hell I bet their operations are on scale with companies like Bayer and Pfizer...

Well at least that's 850 ton less of pure evil hitting the streets.
I hope that puts allot of people out of business.
I guess my day just got better as i personally no how bad that stuff can be.

No kidding. At the end of the day it's not the cartels but the end-losers putting all this crap in their bodies.

We also can't stop the cartels because banks (and probably real estate and casinos) are too dependent on them for laundering their money as well.

Drug users ultimately feed the entire beast.

Probably the raw ingredients came from china anyway...
few phone calls and these cartels will have the replacement drugs on the next available cargo ship...
