Amazing Lightning Show Calgary Canada July 18/11 Video

Found this today. Canadian Prairies going through a heat wave but taking time out for a beautiful light show.

Lightning scares me.I'm in southern ontario and I've never seen anything like that.

We had a short t-storm yesterday,it was pretty rough, but the lightning was far off,as always

Lightning doesn't scare me one bit. I feel so alive when there's a real big storm that lights it up.

Almost as if I'm a part of it.

It happened at about 2 ish in the morning. I was watching TV in my bedroom and my bathroom kept lighting up, it was almost like a strobe light that's how quick it was. I ended up looking outside and the sky was insane. It looked like daytime.

Lasted till dawn as it blew eastward. Beautiful show. I couldn't find my video camera and had people sleeping downstairs.

Barely any. I am on the very edge of the city on the SE corner, we heard a few (woke my wife up) but nothing too bad. I'm happy too because my kids would have woken up.

It was quite the electrical show though and quite a large one, it was circling the city. It went from SW and went right around to the NE and retreated very slowly.

aahhh being one with the storm.
it must be a unique feeling.
i on the other hand feel like bugs are crawling on me. I don't mind the rain or the thunder, but for reasons unknown, I cringe in fear when I see lightning.
time to rummage through my memory!

Too bad. A lightning storm like that is kinda anticlimactic without the Bang following it. That's half the show!

Looks like some ground hits as well so there had to be some good cracks heard.

The forces of nature are a way for me to respect life and the beauty of it all.

3 weeks ago we had a heatwave followed up by a spectacular lightshow at night, as soon i saw that, took my camera run up unto the hill and start taken pictures. Im always ready to watch and chase such beauty, even if its 4 oclock in the morning
That gives me an opportunity to post some, hope you dont mind

Great video, and the soundtrack was much more enjoyable than the usual ominous classical score that accompanies these.
