At the risk of sounding like a douche... So what?

There's EQs of that magnitude every say. Its pretty common.
Yet there's always someone on here reporting it like its a big event from a top secret source that no one else could know about.

My thoughts exactly. Who cares? Earthquakes happen all the time, all over the world. I don't understand why ATS gets so excited.

Be nice now, alot of people find these sites on the web for the first time and think they are all of a sudden a super geologist and want to share their insight with the rest of the members here.

I imagine the predictions will start coming shortly of the "Big One" coming soon.

Yeah thats true. I guess they feel its a good way to get a pinky toe in the door.

"The big one" lol. There's always gonna be a big one coming soon. Just like how there's always going to be something aligned with planet earth.

Call me when it hits 7.0 (or high 6.x if it's right under a populated area).

5.8 is just normal Earth movements that happen everyday, all the time, somewhere in the world.

Not a big deal....

However, if you notice an earthquake that registers higher than 7.5 then I would like to know about it, depending on the location. Anything over eight I would like to know about ASAP regardless of location.
Any eqs below 6 on the r scale I don't need to hear about unless abnormally damaging.

You know they don't use the Richter Scale anymore don't you?

Went away quite awhile ago.

yes the pacific ring of fire is and has been shaking alot, no conspiracy there.

now why is it shaking massively everywhere along the ring except the north american coastline, now that may prove to be a trick question.
