What - this didn't hold your attention for long enough?

I believe ADHD as it is, begins with tv. What is it - 10 minutes or less between commercials? We are trained at an early age to keep our attention on something for a very limited time.

How convenient they have thousands of meds to prescribe for it.

Didn't have tv much when I was a kid and I was the poster child for ADD.

TV couldn't hold my attention but I started reading at a very early age tho. It's no picnic...trust me.

Parents tried the meds on me. Lost reality. Stopped and have gone without for over 40 yrs.

It can be controlled with practice but is absolutely maddening at times.

Just 2 pennies worth.

Oh god...sometimes loving this site comes with some huge laughs!

It's okay if I am laughing by myself...I might have a touch of ADHD myself!

This thread should debunk any theory that ADHD does not exist.

I have 2 boys with ADHD, 1 grew out of it (almost completely now) just turned 13, the other boy 15... I think he will continue to suffer into adulthood.

Its a great big subject if this thread should continue, which it probably won't since there is no Original Post

But seriously, there's alot of us out here if you need to edit your post and continue.

You are absolutely right...so on the serious note...I suppose if the OP is not going to post the original then you can probably start a thread and possibly address an issue that a lot of people may not be really comfortable discussing without a little help.

You might be surprised that it is a lot more common that most of us (speaking for myself) are even aware of...we probably could all use a little education in the area of this disorder (Is it a disorder?)...I know I could stand to be a bit more understanding of what ADHD is and what it entails.

Good idea...you should start a thread on it!

Well in that case...I will keep my eyes open for it.

I have four girls...two that are about the same ages as your boys...and thankfully they have no problems (other than the typical teenage girl disasters that occur several time a day) and sometimes I forget just how fortunate I am that they don't have too much of a struggle.

I will keep my eyes open for your thread and hopefully we all can learn a bit from it...I am certain I can use a crash course in that particular department.

Thanks for your reply, and sharing your experiences with it.
You were fortunate not to be inundated with tv in your early years-- and, reading instead.
But no, agreed, no picnic.
