LulzSec calls it quits after 50 days

The hacker group LulzSec, which over the last two months has attacked the websites of large corporations and government organizations and raved on Twitter about its exploits, has called it quits.

LulzSec said that after 50 days it was time for the group to say "bon voyage," in what it said was its last news release, posted Saturday on the PasteBin website.

"For the past 50 days we've been disrupting and exposing corporations, governments, often the general population itself, and quite possibly everything in between, just because we could," the group said in its statement. "All to selflessly entertain others."

Humm perhaps this really isn't a false attack gimmick started by the CIA... If it was I would have expected that the attacks would last much longer and become even bigger. Also the main stream media hasn't been covering or hyping this up at all.

Wow, how many times has this been posted already? A quick search would answer that question. Hint: the answer is not one!

I'd guess that even though Cleary wasn;t said to be an actual member, his arrest got them scared and they decided to call it quits now rather than risk either being caught themselves or more than likely, people getting bored of their exploits.

The biggest fear these guys could have is people showing apathy to their attacks and after 50 days, better to burn out than fade away comes to mind.

Probably return under a new name or something in future anyway.
