Government 'surplus' stores now selling personal items TSA steals from passengers

This is really just more confirmation that the government only comes across things when it steals it. The police in the local area should confiscate this equipment and return it to its rightful owner (TSA can pay the bill).

Are you saying you would rather see terrorist blow up planes and kill innocent people rather than have TSA searches? What's you being in the navy and traveling the world have to do with terrorism and the TSA? I'm just trying to understand your post.

no US aviation passenger has died from terrorist attack since 09/12/2001.
it is impossible to know what has been prevented.
Prevention is preferable to capture/detain.

and yes, aviation is still being targeted.

damn! imagine the IRS doing an audit on TSA.. confiscated goods! this si the same thing, as people who have bodega shops, go into retail stores, steal high end shampoos, and sell em at thier tables outside for $5. our own government doing the same sleezy thing. are they that bankrupt, this is what theyve resorted to doing????

I'd rather take my chances at pre-911 security levels, with one difference: crews should be armed, than give up anymore of my freedoms because some sheep are scared of their own shadows.

The real terrorists do not ever have to do any thing ever again. They have the TSA and DHS to do their work for them. The terrorists job is done for the most part. With crap like this going on why should they bother. The TSA and DHS is do a better job at being terrorists than they could them selfs. We have just traded one group of terrorists for another one

I too will never fly again and I love flying.

I get very frisky As I have to have a window seat, and as the plane is zooming down the run way, picking up speed, faster and faster and faster and then that whooose that lift off, it just well makes me very happy (I am embarrased to say but I have to hide my face because anyone seeing me would know not just my husband makes me happy!)



Now, weird, I can't do roller coasters, or carnival rides that are too fast but a jet plane............I will miss flying and resent the TSA.

I know the Australian customs say that they turn confiscated liquor into vinegar...this is ofcoarse after evaporation from the aussi climate and the angels share of the goods first!

Surely the scissors, nail clippers and other personal hygiene items should be donated to charity or the homeless to assist them not some rich businessmen?

Making money of stealing is only going to encourage the damn "TSA agents" to steal more of people, considering it is paying their wages (or those of their masters who tell them what to do.)

what about at least 3 very recent incidents where even pilot, flight attendant, an passenger go CRAZY on plane how are TSA addressing that? it seems the pilot - and those rehearsed by CIA to gain access to cockpit - are the prime ways a plane "terror" attack can still occur, not a 2.5 ounce bottle of pepto bismol thats not allowed (thats what was confiscated and i head really bad heartburn on a 5 hr turned into a flight turned into 5 hr just sitting on runway let alone delays and rerouting in air).

someone mentioned they think charter flights dont have as much TSA security? aren't charter flights when a small ticket reseller buys out some or all of the seats at a discount and resells for some profit? passengers still pass thru some TSA it doesnt matter if its a main airline or a reseller/chartered plane.

The terrorists won. They have us so cowed that we feel up grandmothers and little girls in an effort to be safe. It's stupid.

I think the current security practices are absurd. In eleven years they haven't caught one terrorist.

It's time for us to return to a state of sanity and civility.

To the poster who stated that flying is a privilege, not a right, I beg to differ. Take that logic and throw it at driving a car, taking a train or bus, a boat, even walking. You earn the RIGHT to drive by obtaining a license and proving your abilities (in most cases, I am not discounting serious mistakes at licensing agencies.) You earn the RIGHT to fly by paying for a ticket, or to take a train or bus by paying for a ticket. You are then a customer, and customers have rights everywhere else in the world, but for transportation companies these days.

What you are saying makes it seem like you think folks should earn a license to fly, but other modes of transportation don't need that right. I got that impression, anyway, when you said those who can't "follow the TSA rules" should take other transportation.

I am not commenting about my opinions of the TSA, but I feel it is ridiculous to say flying is a privilege, not a right.
