First, here are the facts about the case:

UK Conservative lawmaker Andrew Bridgen, MP for Leicestershire North West, has been detained in London on suspicion of sexual assault.

The Metropolitan Police also confirmed that the Tory MP was arrested on Thursday morning for assaulting a 29-year-old woman.

www.presstv.ir...

He is vehemently denying it:

MP Andrew Bridgen, arrested on suspicion of sexual assault, has said he "vigorously denies any allegations of wrongdoing".

"He has willingly cooperated with the police and is not going to make any further comment while the police are investigating.

"Because of the high level of media interest, Mr Bridgen has decided to stay in London until at least next Friday and, as a result, regrettably, this afternoon's surgery at Whitwick Community Coffee Shop has been postponed."

www.bbc.co.uk...

Now, if he is guilty of this, then I am glad to see that politicians are not above the law in such cases. But some things are very odd about this.

For one, to my knowledge, this case makes the 4th recent incident of high profile politicians involved in sexual assault accusations and scandals.

Second, this happens a couple of days after he was very vocal to push reforms to the NHS and accused 'Stalinist Elements' of protecting the status quo:

Tory blasts 'Stalinist elements' in fightback over NHS shake-up

I actually disagree with his NHS reform stances but I wonder if someone else did to the point of setting him up. It's just so odd with all the recent cases.

If I was a politician, I would feel like I should hire a team of eunuchs with cameras to hang out with me at all times just to keep my reputation safe. lol

Anyways, maybe it's something and he was set up, maybe it's nothing and it's just another jerk being brought to justice.

Won't men ever learn to keep it in their pants?! I could think of a few NHS reforms for him if he turns out to be guilty

This is too coincidental to me. Two days after his statement about the Satanists wanting to maintain the status quo?

It stinks, imo.

Just a quick correction. lol It was 'Stalinists.' Not 'satanists.' lol

But I agree. It was suspicious to me, too, that another politician gets accused of sexual assault days after he bucks the system.

Oh, thanks for pointing that out, lol. I thought it was too good to be true that someone had actually named the demons (pardon the pun!)

But yes, and stalinists is just as bad from their point of view - and I agree, this sexual assault thingy seems to be the new black (sorry, another unintentional pun, lol) in terms of getting rid of higher profile people not towing the party line.
