It’s a story CNN won’t report. Late at night there’s a pounding on the door in Misurata. Armed soldiers force young Libyan women out of their beds at gun-point. Hustling the women and teenagers into trucks, the soldiers rush the women to gang bang parties for NATO rebels or else rape them in front of their husbands or fathers. When NATO rebels finish their rape sport, the soldiers cut the women’s throats. Rapes are now ongoing acts of war in rebel-held cities, like an organized military strategy

Joanna Moriarty, who’s part of a global fact-finding delegation visiting Tripoli this week, also reports that NATO rebels have gone house to house through Misurata, asking families if they support NATO. If the families say no, they are killed on the spot. If families say they want to stay out of the fighting, NATO rebels take a different approach to scare other families

These are daily occurrences, not isolated events. And Gaddafi’s soldiers are not responsible. In fact, pro-Gaddafi and “neutral” families are targeted as the victims of the attacks. Some of the NATO tactics may have occurred in hopes of laying blame on Gaddafi’s door. However the attacks are back firing.

Screw NATO! This sounds to familiar to the bombing of Yugoslavia because because Yugoslavia was becoming a successful socialist state, which threatened capitalism and the U.S. bombed the sh/t out of Yugoslavia. Just like Gaddafi threatening the U.S. currency by giving Africa it's own currency to print. So the rape is like the conflict generated between the Serbs and Montenegro, allowing for NATO to occupy Yugoslavia.

S&F more people need to see what is really going on. The rebels are nothing but islamic extremists and mercenaries. Unfortunently I don't see this thread getting the attention it deserves. I made a thread months ago about the genocide the libyan rebels were commiting on black migrant workers. They were killing them in public. Beheading them in front of a cheering crowd. I could not believe my eyes(I doubt the videos are still on youtube)

Propaganda works both ways.... You don't believe anything the media says (unless you want to, then skepticism is out the window)

If the US govt made this claim about Libyan soldiers, you'd demand 10 different types of proof.....+

You wont believe ANYthing the US govt. says ... but will listen to anyone that says NATO, Israel or the US are doing evil across the pond...

It really is funny, it's like watching a cat chase a laser..

Just looking at the recomended reading was enough to flush this articles credibility. I notice that NATO is the US, France, UK, and of course the big boogey man Israel. How interesting that the author uses the nations that are pretty despised in the Middle East. Wanting to believe something is not the same as it being true kids. Way too much effort was made to single out the above nations.Try actually seeing past the agenda for once.

Possibly, but don't you think repeatedly calling them "NATO rebels" in the OP was a real stretch? The rebels are certainly NATO-backed, but clearly they started this rebellion on their own and before NATO reluctantly got involved.

And to infer somehow that NATO backs kidnapping and raping women and children is IMO very much "over the top".

But the rebels are fighting for democracy, human rights, internationalism, and secularism. We should all be like these brave little soldiers fighting against the mean old dictator Gaddafi. They're the paragons of virtue, not rapist.

I agree. Unless someone has hard and concrete evidence in the form of a cell phone video or hidden cam clip, it is very very hard to believe who is right and wrong even on the internet.

People are selective in their belief system I guess.

My inner humanitarian tells me bombing a city full of civilians is the right way to go about things on ANY humanitarian aid mission.

And thats what this is right?, a humanitarian mission?, correct me if im wrong please.

Because, if i just pause and think for a minute, why else would NATO need Cruise Missles and Helicopter Gun Ships??, if not on a humanitarian mission???

Yes, I agree labelling them as, "NATO rebels," was incorrect and over the top IMO. But think about what NATO is doing. They go into a country on the premise of protecting civillians. Meanwhile they bomb the hell out of Ghaddafi, his soldiers and anything he can use to defend his people. That is war to me. That is not civillian protection. I remember a month and half or so ago when the rebels were making their advance towards Misurata from the East. As soon as they approached Sirte, they were run out of town by armed civillians. So how is NATO protecting those civillians. I'm sure they don't count because they support a, "dictator."

Everyone loves calling Ghaddafi a dictator. But what has he done for his people? no taxes on food, universal healthcare,(libyans injured overseas included) free education(including college, university, no tuition fees for studying abroad, government pays it), subsidized housing, interest free housing loans, huge cash incentives for having a child and getting married, libyans wanting to open their own bussiness were GIVEN a one time payment of $20,000. The water system just finished that will provide fresh water to Libyans for 50,000 years and will turn the Libyan desert sands into a fertile farmland. And he was giving free land away. The libyan people received direct deposits in their bank account for part of the oil trade.

These rebels already had a central bank iin place after a week. Like c mon. They have also been selling millions of barrels of stolen government oil.And like I mentioned earlier are killing black migrant workers.We know Ghaddafi has been fighting muslim extremists for over two decades. Long before the war on terror. Eastern Libya, where the rebel stronghold is, is a breedng ground for terrorists. More foreign fighters came from Libya(huge majority from eastern libya) to fight in Iraq against NATO per capita than any other country. Not to mention how we heard from the beginning that the rebels were outnumbered 10 to 1 compared to the Libyan army. Well they only have around 50,000 troops, so were being told that a group of roughly 5k is a popular uprising in a country of about 6.5 million.

It's quite obvious to me this war or situation, uprising, whatever you want to call it, is done to get control of Libya. They are one of the last 6 countries who own their bank. Ghaddafi was planning on started a gold backed dinar and wanted all African countries and some Arab to join. That would of been disatrous for the dollar.Qatar is a major player in this as well and are doing a pretty good job selling it through Al Jazeera. Libya is being attacked because they were trying to start a gold backed currency and they have major water and oil reserves.

If you can handle watching, I know it is very hard to and don't blame you if you can't, search, "libyan rebels behead black migrant workers," on youtube and there is actually videos of people being stabbed to death and beheaded in public by these rebels. There is a cheering crowd of supporters in each video. Anyone that can support that group is a sick individual, IMO

The rebels are nothing more then hired paid western terrorists goons, remember even CNN Anderson Cooper back in march admitted the rebels were only in a thousand either to 1000 or to 1,500.

Do they indeed support kidnapping and raping women and children, In bosina, both NATO, United Nations allowed the Bosnian Muslims to continue there genocide on serbian civilians in sarajevo and elsewhere roasting Innocent women,boys,men,girls alive, even rape on all serbian civilians were caused by Bosnian Muslims, croatians but the human rights didn't want to report these charges to the un, because it would have damaged there agenda of creating an Islamic state in bosina.



But of course the media was one sided with the Bosnian Muslims, so it didn't matter to report the genocide on the Serbs, caused by either Bosnian Muslims, croatians.


NATO was very supportive of the Bosnian Muslims and the terrorists in bosnia, to this day, terrorists in bosnia there are bases in the mountains .

There are accusations of rape on both sides - Interesting though, that when the accusations center on Ghaddaffi and the Libyan army, it's dismissed as media propaganda but when accusations center on the rebels and/or NATO, it's considered heinous. Rape as a weapon should never be tolerated. Period.

I believe you. I can surely handle watching such crimes though its gruesome for many and certainly they cannot handle to even think. However I think that such ethnic and tribal conflicts are common and certainly the Libyan Rebels (NOT NATO Rebels or Soldiers) are conducting these acts. They are using the opportunity at hand with the help of NATO upto a great extent to do what they would have done eventually or perhaps were covertly all these years (as we dont know squat about the media coverage before the conflict). I am simply stating the fact that the link is definitely a propoganda website with poor job on referencing between the REBELS and NATO Soldiers and classifying everyone under NATO.

African sub-continent is filled with barbaric tribal and regional warfare and bloodsheed for thousands of years. Shall we talk about 'RWANDA' ?

This is an obvious propaganda article. As was already stated they are rebels, not NATO soldiers. NATO is only associated with the rebels on the basis of removing Gaddafi from power. Further proof is given in the update to the article at the bottom when they begin to praise Gaddafi for releasing prisoners etc and then they go to say they even have this video proof.

As well, the other news media outlets are reporting this the other way saying that it's Gaddafi that is promoting his soldiers to rape and torture.
