Who had to go head to head with the oil companies ?

Just think about it, who is running the show, who are the global elite, and who would they hate to see in power?

So you support making private business share their profits with the citizens of the state?
That sure sounds like socialism to me.

Isnt that amazing? Current administration seems to do just that. One works hard all their life only to be expected to share the fruits of labor with the one's that expect freebies.

I hate freeloaders and socialists. Socialism is for the lazy. Capitalism is for the hard working (physical labor or using brains).

You do realize of course that Oil Companies get money provided for by the US taxpayers thru subsidies even though they are showing record profits. Welfare for the rich, eh. What do you call that?

I can't imagin why Palin would think she was important enought to meet M.T.

Oh. I remember...

Date Line: 6/14/10 2:43 PM EDT

Sarah Palin visiting Margaret Thatcher

Palin writes: “I have received an invitation for a visit to London, and part of that invitation included the offer of arranging a meeting between myself and one of my political heroines, the ‘Iron Lady,’ Margaret Thatcher.”

The news of a possible trip was first reported by London’s Daily Mail, which wrote on Sunday that Thatcher has agreed to the visit.

Source: www.politico.com...

The Daily Mail seems all messed up on this.

Whatever, M.T never said she wouldn't meet Palin nor did she say she was "Nuts" (publically). It was "an Ally" of M.T. (the mentally damaged person).

Come on folks. Relax. Wait for something better than this. geeze.... Showing your angst maybe?

Well, I'll be darn.

Considering the fact that Margaret Thatcher suffers from dementia, and has for many years, I would be willing to bet that Margaret Thatcher doesn't even know who Margaret Thatcher is, let alone Sarah Palin.

Thatchers own daughter Carol has said on several occasions that there are times when her mother doesn't even recognise her and other members of her family. So no doubt this was a case of the people who have a duty of care to look after Thatchers interests protecting her from a blatant PR attempt by Palin.

Nice slap in the face. Exactly what she deserved. She's already done enough to strengthen the stereotype idea people across the world have of Americans and she should make no illusions that she of any political importance or ever will be.

and what stereotype would that be?

Maybe I am sick of what other counties think.

Maybe that's the root of your problem, maybe your country should start listening to other countries and start digging yourself out of your hole instead of foolishly thinking America is the best country in the world.

I was never a fan of Thatcher but i'm glad she snubbed the mad woman Palin. Although I wouldn't put it past America to vote her in, considering your backlog of loonies.

Really unfair Mr. L and to think I star your post all the time

How about this, maybe other countries should worry about what Americans think of them, I am a real bullheaded and independent gal, work hard. pay our taxes, live in peace, don't make waves, you know nothing about me yet you have judged me.
what's not to love,

I never said it was the best country in the world, but I think we should start taking care of our own.

Are you American?

I am the daughter of immigrants, blacksmiths and farmers who worked the coal mines, and native America on my mothers side, live a hard life had to hunt and fish and live off the land back in the day, wife of a veteran,

ask me anything.

cut me some slack

She was a very great woman,I regret the ignorance and apologize for any crass remarks from the people of my country.
But Sarah may really be genuine as she is a conservative, regardless of the political rhetoric.

Awwww.... hey It's only politics, I wouldn't worry too much.
I don't like Sarah Palin and you do.... It's no big deal

Of course I'd have your back and yep, you could hide in my attic too.

People buy into the left/right thing all the time... it's sad really.

I am researching, I feel she gets a raw deal, the more I read about her, the more I think she isn't your typical politician, but I could be wrong, but I could be right,

Good.

Palin should be snubbed by everyone.

Maybe then she'll go away and we can concentrate on more important people.

When I read the OP I had 2 thoughts.

1- Maggie is still alive?

2- Who the hell is Palin to even think of encroaching on the ex-PM's space. Make your own time. This woman already did hers. Weak.

Well I guess she may get a raw deal.... but she's pro guns, anti-abortion and just very annoying.... so yeah, I'm never gonna like her and I don't have any real issues.... I live in England and she has no bearing on my life whatsoever... so It's all good.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is planning a trip to London and a visit with former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, her staff has confirmed to POLITICO.

In a Facebook post scheduled to go up Monday, Palin writes: “I have received an invitation for a visit to London, and part of that invitation included the offer of arranging a meeting between myself and one of my political heroines, the ‘Iron Lady,’ Margaret Thatcher.”

But as I posted on my topic she put politics aside when she wasn't getting anywhere with the Republicans in Alaska and collaborated with the democrats for the best of the state.

Also she Pi$$ed of Cheney when he asked her to back off the oil companies and ignored his request,

could be why so many hate her.

as an earlier post said something about an invitation,

Not according to the OP:

‘We don't make firm appointments for this sort of meeting,’ the aide told The Independent.

Secondly I find it repulsive that Palin is playing the politics she is:

Her visit is thought to be linked with the centenary year of Ronald Reagan’s birth and Baroness Thatcher being his closest ally in world affairs.

Baroness Thatcher is expected to attend the unveiling of a statue to Mr Reagan outside the U.S. Embassy in London on Independence Day next month.

Palin's not worthy of washing Reagan's laundry.

maybe you could go read though some of the information on my topic,

I am not trying to change peoples minds, but there is more to her than meets the eye, I am trying to inform,

I was positive Intrepid that a while back you said something nice about her, actually had her back
