India and Pakistan have been exchanging gun/artillery fire for a long time?

I haven't heard anything for a while, I know that they're fighting over Kasmir but was unaware that they have been exchanging gun fire for some time now.

at one point Pakistan said that it had the right to launch a pre-emptive strike against india. There reasoning... If america can do it to protect it's self so can we

I cant find the news article that thsi appeared in, but I do distinctly remember an Indian general saying that he considered India having the edge in that they could easily absorb a loss of 1 million people far easier than Pakistan could...

It is rather frightening that a general in charge of nuclear weapons would think like that ....

Yes, Pakistan and India routinely fire artillery across thier border. Ever see the beginning of the movie K2, where the Pakistani artillery base started the morning with a barrage on an Indian observation post? This is very much based in fact.

I just have to wonder, how many missle components on each side were made by Matra/Dassault???
