News Article

The 23-year-old had suffered from extreme food allergies for year from eggs to dairy and fruit and vegetables. Doctors warned her that pregnancy would make the symptoms worse but that antihistamines could harm her baby. But Ms Franklin knew she wasn’t allergic to McDonald’s burgers - so she ate a Big Mac burger everyday throughout her pregnancy.

how weird!!

she is allergic to that many kinds of healthy food while can get use to junk food even when she is pregnant!!!

luckily that she gave birth to a healthy kid..

somebody could explain this?

Congrats to her and her child ...

This World works in mysterious ways ... And so does health and medicine!

A good post ... However, I wish I was allergic to everything BUT KFC ... Oh how life would be so great

Easy explaination - Mcdonalds does not use real food products and is nothing but a big fat burger of garbage and fake crap -

so we know that she can eat meat, salad, bread, onions etc...

She could have skipped the big mac and made herself a plain old hamburger at home with real meat, and have a lettuce/onion salad on the side...

What is it with the excuses for eating at Mickey D's? It's BS!!

Now I'm glad that the baby came out healthy, but what are the long term effects of ingesting the chemicals that are in those "burgers"? No birth defects but what about mental development?

Not sure I can believe it.
The original source of the article you linked to the infamous DAIL MAIL. A rag known for fabricating stories in the past.

And this... in the text she says she is so severely allergic to all fruit and vegies that...
If someone so much as touches a lettuce and handles my food, it can trigger a life threatening reaction.
...and yet in the accompanying photo she is clearly holding, in her own hand, a burger WITH LETTUCE hanging out of the sides.
McDonalds do not have the food segregation requirements that she says she needs.

Edit - just looking at the other garbage that Lucy Lang (journalist) writes, its all amazingly unbelievable medical weirdo stories. She clearly specialises in that.

Yes, sounds like she's just after an excuse to eat a MacDonald's every day.

One could probably argue that such a diet may be detrimental to the baby and set up up quite nicely for a lifetime of obesity et al. There are plenty of studies out there which state that poor diet during pregnancy will effect:

Child health
Child IQ

I agree. All this O.P. does is daily scan the rag tag fictional news sites and start at least one or two threads a day from them on A.T.S.

This isnt even newsworthy if it was real

Pregnant woman truly do push the limits when it comes to food consumption - at times.
Who knows. I've heard of worse, like when the cravings start for dirt, clay, rainbow ice cream, etc.
Maybe it's all in her head - of course combined with some type of allergy..

What's fun to think about is just what's in her belly besides those Big Mac's!

This strikes me as a under the radar form of advertising....
the psycology of people especially those prepped by TV, and flouride, and school, allows for this...
It plants concepts and associations like
McDONALDS, good food BAD ( though its not really bad when Im eating it at mcds ),
and motivates with Pregnancy CRAVING

Every time you think of sex, or getting pregnant, or every time you see food that you know is good for you,
you will think that good food is bad and will make you sick, and you WILL get
a supersized pregnancy craving for MACDONALDS
its hypnosis
