Strange visions whilst lying in bed?

Hi all, I don't normally post in this area, but I have to share this and ask if anyone has ever heard of it happening before or can explain it.

Here goes:

A few years ago I was lying in bed at a friend’s house, the lights were out and I preparing to go to sleep.

I started to notice a bright square appear towards the left of my vision on what I can only say was my eyelids as my eyes were shut. As I tried to focus in on this images started forming.....a couple running through corn fields, armies marching / parading in the street like you see on WWII German videos and finally an old man or woman sitting in a rocking chair with a night cap on drinking something from a cup.

The more I tried to focus in on these black and white, but very real images, the headache that was developing was getting worse, almost like it was trying to stop me?

I opened my eyes and on the window ledge in front of me was a creature, best description I can give is it looked like that creature Gollum (?) from The Lord of the Rings; it was looking at me and nodding, so I quickly switched the light on and it was gone.

I slept with the light on that night, I had this feeling of terror that I can't explain, I don't scare easily, and I wasn't scared, I can't explain it, my extremities were numb and tingly and I felt cold.

Now then, the reason I am writing this:

Two nights ago I was lying in bed and I started seeing stuff "on the inside of my eyelids" again, and again it was very clear, and by that I mean I could actually see that something was there, not like imagining it in my mind. Again the image was black and white, but occasionally there were brilliant flashes of bright colours, reds, yellows and greens.

The image also again seemed to be towards the left side of my vision, this time it was in a car driving fast past a dome shaped building, the window was down and there was trees along the roadside, then it was back to the fields only this time there was more people, and I remember straw hats.

This time when I opened my eyes, there was a face right in front of mine, just a face, no body, and I'm pretty sure it was a woman, but only the eyes were really noticeable, the rest was faint.

This time though, I didn't feel terror, I felt a strange comfortable feeling and I reached out to touch this face and it was gone.

Now to me, as a skeptic, this is completely bizarre, and I would rather just put it down to some weird mind trick / hallucination, but what I seen was so clear in vision, not like I was imagining it, I can't really explain it better than that, so I thought I would share it, maybe someone else has had a similar experience, or there may be another answer, who knows.

Regards.

Tony aka WoogleUK.

Very interesting, WoogleUK. I had a very similar experience years ago, a sort of "accidental remote viewing," while going to sleep, but I'm not sure that it was RV at all. But the images I saw behind my eyelids seemed extremely real. They lacked the "technicolor" aspect of actual vision, but they were real nonetheless. I also felt that it was hard to focus on these images because of something (the conscious mind, perhaps?) pulling my attention away from it, trying to evaluate it and make sense of it.

My experiences, however, are never accompanied by anything when I open my eyes. This really does intrigue me, and the difference in what you saw on both occasions.

I have often wondered how many other people have had this experience of seeing images and scenes behind their eyelids while in meditation, or falling asleep.

Sorry I don't have any theories to propose; your post just resonated with me, as it had so many similarities with what I have experienced.

Thanks for the response, it's just good to hear of someone with a similar expoerience.

You say about finding it hard to focus as something seemed to be pulling you away, thats what I got with the headache, like it was trying to stop me from focussing in or carrying on, the fact that I felt I knew that was what the headache was doing is one of the strange parts of it.

When I was midteens I had a couple of odd episodes similar in description to a sleep-paralysis moment...
electrical buzz, unable to move, body vibrating heavily, sometimes eyes open, sometimes eyes closed.

One time in particular (and the only time this happened) I fought the feeling with every ounce of my mental energy and as I opened my eyes and the sensation dissipated... a blurred head with male features and mouth moving was inches from my face hovering over my head...
I figured it was imagination?

Hope that is something.

Wag.

Very strange, I have never had anything like this happen to me. At least not until yesterday when I went home sick at lunch time. I lay down in bed to try to take a nap and started seeing these pictures flashing across the inside of my eyelids at a high rate of speed. They were like cartoons of people and were flashing by so fast I couldn't tell what all of them even were. All I could think of was reading this thread and the things you saw afterward so I kept my eyes closed...lol. I know it must have been caused by suggestion from reading about your experience but I've never had anything like it in my 52 years. It was so vivid, like I was watching a movie on the insides of my eyelids.

That is clairvoyance. You are not seeing it on your eyelids, its your third eye,it seems to me you are looking back at past events/past people, the energy is built into all things around you.
Psychometric activities would best describe this, its like holding a piece of jewelery and seeing what you get from it.
It happens on a few different levels and can be very confusing for a while.

Yes, flashes of bright vivid colours, sounds about right.

It was so vivid, like I was watching a movie on the insides of my eyelids.

Again, sounds right, it's like a square TV screen in the left hand side of my vision. If somehow reading my experience has helped you have one of your own then I am glad to have been of service, lol.

Thanks for the response, it was one of the things that crossed my mind, like I was seeing a past life, or looking through the eyes of people in the past. The armies marching and old guy/woman in the chair definatley seemed early to mid 20th century, and as I am only 31 it is definatley not a personal experience.

In a sense it is like remote viewing the past,it is however a different energy used or being tapped into.
You might make a good medium one day! Years of development is the only way you can enhance it and understand it at the same time.A good mentor and teacher a must.
If it is something that you wish to look into i can help point you in the right Direction.I shall leave you with this,
All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums.

That's strange, mine was on the left side as well. I just assumed it was because my left eye is stronger than my right.

I have similar experiences before going to sleep. Its like things are imagining themselves to you, and you are just watching them. Its random stuff usually, and i don't remember almost anything, except for a few very disturbing things.

It is random because it not controlled. This is quite normal at the start, sometimes also you may hear your name being called,or voices that are random also.
Once these things are controlled the random incoherent messages will turn into messages you can understand,it will all make much more sense.
This usually requires a great deal of dedication and persistence.

Edit to add,, Altho sometimes you may see something horrible or gruesome,it is usually not ill intended.
That said tho, there is negative energy's that may wish to fool around with you, however proper learning will give you the knowledge to deal with such things.

It is some sort of psychological illness, that makes these things seem real. It has killed several people, as the dreams are so vivid that the dreamer has a heart attack and expires. I am having difficulty remember what it was called, but it is a real illness, and was attributed to many abductions, supernatural attacks, et cetera.

Are you talking about sleep paralysis? I doubt it. I've had that happen numerous times. This sounds like a past life regression.

I thought this was normal... It happens to me every night that I don't drink myself into oblivion. I always thought it was like crossing from wake into dreaming state.

I am definatley interested in finding out if there is something more to it that just a mind trick/hallucination, I can, if I concentrate, induce it, however the two I mentioned in my OP just happened naturally, and were very strong.

If you mean been to a specialist to regress, then no, I never believed in past life, although I am questioning that.

Thats one thing I noticed, there is never any sound, its all visual.

It happened the moment the light was turned off and I closed my eyes, I was fully awake by that point, although I can see what you are trying to say.

It happens to me a lot, almost every night. As soon as I close my eyes in the dark, it kind of looks like fireworks almost. As time goes on, if I don't open my eyes, it gets more complex. Also I noticed it seems easier to see images in it if I keep my eyes still and don't try to focus on anything if that makes sense. I have been trying to work up to lucid dreaming for a few years now, but most time I can't even remember my dreams, unless it is a crazy nightmare. Not sure if that has any relevance or not.

Yes! Very relevant, I should have mentioned it, at the time of the first "visions" I had been trying to learn myself lucid dreaming, but I haven't tried for years, don't know if it connected as like I said, I had just closed my eyes, and it takes me a while to fall asleep usually.
