Is 4chan anonymous? Yes.

Are we here at ATS anonymous? Yes.

Are you the individual on the internet anonymous? Yes.

a·non·y·mous (-nn-ms)
adj.
1. Having an unknown or unacknowledged name: an anonymous author.
2. Having an unknown or withheld authorship or agency: an anonymous letter; an anonymous phone call.
3. Having no distinctive character or recognition factor: "a very great, almost anonymous center of people who just want peace" (Alan Paton).
[From Late Latin annymus, from Greek annumos, nameless : an-, without; see a-1 + onuma, name (influenced by earlier nnumnos, nameless); see n-men- in Indo-European roots.]

"Anonymous" is not a "known hacking group on the internet." Can a hacker be anonymous though? Yes. Can a non-hacker be anonymous? Yes.

"Anonymous" has an agenda. What is your agenda?

I am anonymous, do you know who I am? Exactly.

No, I'm pretty sure that my personal information is plastered all over the internet. I'm pretty out in the open - luckily I have nothing to hide, except for that one time I looked at pornography, that'll get in the way of my presidential run for 2012.

By the way, what's your avatar all about? The person, seems very "unwell".

You'd be surprised at how 'Non-Anonymous' we are on the internet. If someone wants to find out who you are and they have the resources and money to do it properly then it is almost impossible to remain anonymous.

The Governments and Corporations hijacked the internet a long time ago

I guess you are not really anonymous then are you? Don't worry about the pornography though, if TPTB want you to be the president it will be conveniently forgotten. Lol.

Yes, but for the average computer user most of the people they meet online (aside from facebook) will remain anonymous.

Its a picture I found on /b/ when someone started a creepy thread. I found the source in an Electric Wizard video:

Why post a thread to point out the blatantly obvious?

No one is truly anonymous on the internet, there is something on you out there...somewhere.

The key is masking yourself...not with those BS proxy servers, that's amateurish and does not really work all that well.

No one is anonymous to the NSA. Every type of electronic communication is analyzed through the multi-level, super computer buildings around not just the USA, but in other worldly and off worldly locations. They really do know where you are.

only way to be anonymous in the internetz is by using someone elses connection like your neighbours wifi (change your MAC) or hotspots/internet cafes (of course watch for cameras)...thats it...otherwise your Operator knows everything (enough to trace you if your not the geek-overlord)...

You may like to associate your self with anon but others might not, would you like it if I said you are part of the KKK?

Anonymous has grown away from 4chan. It is bigger than 4chan. Most 4channers don't have anything to do with Anonymous and most of Anonymous has nothing to do with 4chan other than using it as a recruiting tool.

So no one who posts on 4chan is anonymous? You know who all of them are?

It's not that cut and dry. Anonymous use to be synonymous with 4chan but not anymore.

Anonymous is a social engineering tool.

I know a few people who posted about the NWO on Anonymous forums, and they got trashed and totally deleted. It's like Julian Assange saying that he is annoyed with people who think 9/11 was an inside job, totally ignoring the biggest corruption story of the century, to divert your attention to more controlled exposer leaks that are much ado about nothing, and that will ultimately benefit the tptb.

These members weren't even given a reason, they just deleted the threads that they have started mentioning Project Paperclip, Why? Because some of the people in Anonymous are MK victims who have out on these forums, and they don't want them being exposed to this stuff, cause then they might snap out of their programming.

Julian Assange also seems to be an MK victim. He was born in one of these cults closely monitored by intelligence agencies, and his monotonous demeanor seems to hint at MK ULtra. He's too sedate and not real.

I have seen the threads, yes. However, ATS is not where I have learned about Anon.

Since some people have no idea what you are talking about. You are talking about Anonymous the group of activists, not being anonymous.

I actually don't feel correct going so far as to label it a group. It's not a group or any kind of organization. It's just an idea. You can use the anonymous tag to further an agenda that you conceive or want to participate in. I've seen the term invoked to fight for human rights while I've also seen it used to bully people on the internet, but those two very different situations can have nothing to do with each other, not even the same participants, but can call themselves "Anonymous" because it's just an idea and there is no real leadership to stop anyone from using the term. I guess the best way I could define it is that it's the idea that you as an individual have a right to participate in the world and make a difference. There is no global Anonymous agenda, there are just people with their own agendas. Because of this, you can't judge Anonymous as a whole, because it's not necessarily the same people organizing and participating in each activity.
