Pretty close to a marxist philosophy.

As I watched the obviously rich AND well-fed Moore on the attached video, I couldn't help but think:

"Regarding Moore's food intake: That's not his, that's a national resource. It's ours".

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Yeah..I saw this earlier and couldn't believe my ears.

My paycheck has my name on it and I busted my ass for it.
To have some rich fat bastard tell me that my money isn't mine
is insulting while he's busy suing people for money.

Moore is a douche bag. Anyone who takes this hypocrite seriously needs a head check.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

I bet that fat hypocrite wouldn't feel the same way if we wanted HIS money! He is such a stinking hypocrite; he's all down on guns, and yet the fat b@stard owns them. What a POS.

BTW: starred and flagged OP, thanks.

He needs a hobby. Since the 90's ended and he has ceased to be relevant he's gotten exponentially more insane with each passing year with his nonsensical ramblings.

Moore is a complete asshat. Since he is one of the wealthy, maybe he wont mind if I take some of his hard earned cash...

What a schmuck.

I found the video on Youtube....

I've never liked Michael Moore. And these statements do not surprise me one bit.

Forget the marxist bit, I was thinking more along the lines of just plain stupid.

Ok, lets look at some economics...if the rich get tax breaks at the expense of the rest of you...does it mean that they are sitting on your money? If they are doing just hunky-dory through bail-out funds paid for by the taxpayer...are they sitting on your money?

Further...what has his weight got to do with hypocrisy unless in America you have to be uber rich through the rape of the economy in order to be fat. Judging from my travels...that ain't quite so.

He is down on gun abuse, but owns guns and is a life-long member of the NRA. How is that different from those of you who say that legal ownership and use of firearms is your right?

And if he has not been relevant since the 90's, how come his films are so successful?

And if he is so deluded, how come he has not lost a lawsuit in your most litigatenous country since his first film?

Finally...while it's ok to disagree with him, how come all your collective talking points are so lame?

It may be not the same in any country but..

How about people getting wealthy of selling your countries resources?

It could be oil, but also other natural resources, is that to benefit one person/company? or the whole nation?

We pay taxes witch with they fund research, universities, etc.. Here in the Netherlands school is state payed (Mostly)

So I pay for someone's education, someone's research, sallery and even their facilities.. But when i need that knowledge or product i have to pay again.

Or they start a private company with the invention/knowledge provide by the community, while we (taxpayers) facilitated them.. Only to end up to buy the "product" again..

Besides a lot of rich families made that money in a time that there were no equal opportunities, war, slaves, corruption etc.. Times changed now (well, is it? But thats another discussion) But they still profit of the old days by using that fortune in this day and age legal maybe, but they had a head-start

Mr. Moore may be a fool, but there is some ground to his opinion in this.

Not every rich person got a bailout. Matter of fact MOST rich people didn't and were against it because it sets an unfair precedent whereby government is deciding who wins and who loses rather than letting companies and individuals fail, as they rightly should, for crappy decisions and criminal acts.

Finally...while it's ok to disagree with him, how come all your collective talking points are so lame?

Hypocrites who preach to all of us about the virtues of their socialist ideology while suing for profits and telling the rest of us that having profits is wrong deserve no quarter. They should be shunned for the idiot fat bastard morons they are.

I find it funny that his solution to "the few that have all the money because we've allowed them to take it" because "that money is ours" is to TAX them, thereby giving the money not to the people but to a corrupt government. This guy is out to lunch.

The only thing that would remotely make Moore's statements make any real sense is, when a bank gets a massive bailout from the federal government. Isn't the bonuses they give out to the so called "talent" really OUR money? Wouldn't we as shareholders have a say so in what bonuses are paid out to these people? And where were our Dividend Checks? We invested in these companies right? Shouldn't we have received dividends from our investments?

When a person makes a product, and sells that product, the profits from the sale of that product should be that persons. When a person rips off a country then tanks that countries economy, then forces that country to bail him out, shouldn't the ill gotten gains from that person belong to the people of that country?

Call it Marxist if you want, I would prefer to call it Restitution.

If the wealthy get inordinate tax breaks that deprive the lower classes of a quality of life...that's bogus.
If Moore is getting screwed by a corporation out of money that is rightfully his...why not sue? Wouldn't you?
And I did put in a complaint about your lack of decorum. Sorry...you are now held to a higher standard.

That depends.

If they were among the banks that the Government FORCED into taking a bailout, and previous contracts existed, such contracts must be honored if the bank is to avoid heavy litigation.

Some banks were forced to take TARP funds whether they needed such funds or not.

On the point of the Goldman Sachs', JP Morgan's, and B of A's of the world I certainly agree that their CEOs, the ones who profited from our tax money, owe us big time.

I believe JAIL is better for their individual crimes than collective punishment as one like Moore would advocate.

You bet I would. The difference being that I don't hate rich people, nor do I want to steal anyone's money to redistribute to someone who didn't work for it through taxation. Nor do I demonize people making a profit while whining about my own profits.

In other words, I'm not a hypocrite.

He can go first.
The fact that he personally profits off the system he claims foul on shows the level of his low character.

He has millions himself. And i am certain that his accountant has creative ways to hide his money and skip out of taxes as well.
He truly is a clown of the highest order.

The massively lame and childish comments reminds me of our dumbed down media. There are many masters sitting on tons of cash that was squeezed out of your exploited slave behind. A large portion of that money, belongs to the people who slaved to make it.
