So your argument is that gay people shouldn't be allowed to have sex? Who are you to dictate what TWO ADULTS do in their private lives?

And to the poster above, there are plenty of straight folk in this thread who believe full-heartedly that this is a non-issue. Homosexuals should have the same rights as heterosexuals. Just because someone thinks it's "wrong" or "unnatural" does not give them the right to discriminate against people.

You could say similar things about tattoos, piercings, dying hair, liking certain foods, etc. Discrimination based on those is wrong, no? Why is it only ok when it is to do with homosexuality? Aren't tattoos forbidden in the Bible?

I will admit I used to have a problem with homosexuality and I was homophobic. But I grew out of it and realised why I was in the wrong, particularly when my best mate came out as gay. I even go to gay clubs with my mate and pick up women - it works, trust me!

Homophobia is still a problem in this world, but I don't think anyone can deny that it is on the decline. Compare now to 20 years ago, hell even 10 years ago. But this is something that is not going to change overnight, it will take time.

I also believe that gay/lesbians should be allowed to get married. Why shouldn't they have the right to be as miserable as the rest of us?!

Very true. When I was attending my college back in 2006 it felt like every month there was an incident or at the very least once a semester the pride room would be broken into, vandalized, and our computer equipment stolen. I came back in 2009 and it has never been more quiet and peaceful.

Theodore Dalrymple is an emergency room Physician in the UK and writes about what is wrong with the UK social engineering and to what chaos it leads and has lead. I find this very interesting from the public school system to night life to relationships between the sexes.
As an emergency room physicianj Theodore Dalrymple gets to see the final result of all this Social Engineering.

What Theodore Dalrymple is stating is that the UK is following a Marxist/Socialist world template in social engineering and it is leading to chaos in the UK across the board.

While I have not yet finished the book..with less than half read it is clear that many of the social engineering concepts being done in the UK are planned and being instituted here in the USA and without most being aware of it. Someone here wants to make us just like the UK.

One of the facets of what Theodore Dalrymple ( A pen name) is speaking is that the young in the UK have only and mostly their sexuality as a pattern to follow of thinking that they are so grown up and ready to handle the world. Their education is pretty much rubbish. The foreigners in the UK put more stock and value in education than do the natives. They see what is happening to the UK peoples and youth and decide that they do not want to follow this template for their young. One cannot particularly blame them.

What Theodore Dalrymple also states of noteworthyness is that this social cancer, in across the board... moral/social detioration, is moving up the social ladder to where the lowest common denominator is moving up the ladder to where people who should know better and are eduated are beginning to follow this social template of the lowest common denominator because it is so highly marketable through popular culture, public education, and the media. This is a very acute observation by the author.
There is even a belief among many that there is no reason to be educated. The government will take care of most things. Entitlement beliefs run amok.

The UK social experiment is turning into a social trainwreck....in like manner to what happened in Ancient Rome.
And this is also the plan for the USA as we impliment more and more of these social practices are coming to us without most of the people knowing it is happening.
Runnaway sexuality is one important and necessary facet of this world social plan. People who define themselves by their sexuality and sexual orientation..not by what they know or are capable of doing...but total self indulgence.
The plan and pattern is to breed a genration of peoples who know very young all about sexuality but not enough thinking or education to earn a living for themselves and their families.
It is a very bleak picture that Theodore Dalrymple is painting for the UK youth. They are very different from the time of their grandparents and great grandparents.

Sexuality and sexual awareness, tied to ones emotions and instant gratification beliefs, is not a sign of being grown up or mature. It is also a very poor standard or belief by which to demand of others acceptance...whether gay or straight.

You are correct in that you state this is a agenda and it is obvious to those who can think outside the box of a public school/television/movie education which often tries to pass for excellence and the moral high ground of today.

The emotional levels of many of the posters on this thread combined with their intolerance, vitriol, and labeling of those who disagree with them...is testimony to that of which I speak.

What this is is censorship...while claiming a desire for a free society. They are not tolerant, not enlightened, not free. It is herd mentality..also known as mob mentality.

It is like politics of todayl...divisive..not uniting. And it is obvious because politics pays for and finances public education.

Interesting post you have made. I am gratified to learn that someone else sees it for what is it.

I absolutely did not choose to be homosexual. While I agree that I can make a conscious choice to be in a homosexual relationship, I see no reason why I ought not to if that is my sexual persuasion.

Would you proactively deny me a healthy, consensual, loving relationship?

I couldn't care less about getting married if I was in a relationship and try not to bother with the argument but to equate my emotions and my inate sexuality to a child molester or criminal betrays a disturbing lack of empathy and understanding of the issue.

If conservative homosexuals like myself are marginalized they will eventually pick a side and become more vocal about the issue, furthering this so called 'agenda' that you think we have.

It isn't a club where we all us homos get together and have a cup of tea and discuss current events and how we can piss heterosexuals off.

I'd have to agree here.

Here's a real-world example.

My wife's mother was gay, and her and her partner were together for over 20 something years when my wife's mother passed.

Of course, being together that long, they shared finances, assets, etc.

Sorting it out afterwards was a nightmare. Also, had they been a legally recognized couple, the survivor would be getting the other's SS and other such support, but as it is now, her household income was simply halved all of a sudden.
