A. It's not exactly new knowledge...
B. It's mostly targeted at pregnant women...
C. If you take regular precautions there is no threat..

Empty the damn litterbox atleast every other day. Don't let pets camp out in your bed or sofa, atleast for.the duration of pregnancy. Don't lick your cat's paws... don't eat the kill presents it brings home... apart from that, love your pet. It's not trying to kill you and there's nothing amazing or extremely dangerous about it, unless you're a bleeding idiot who doesn't take an Interest in how your pet works.

This thread stands as a clear example how lack of knowledge can create and nuture unfounded fear.

I still can't figure out why anyone would want an animal that craps in the house. I have yet to go into any person who owned more than 1 cats house (which was a housecat) and not had it stink, because the cat is crapping in a box in the house. My sister has cats and half the time they don't even bother with the cat box, they just find the nearest potted plant...so gross
