Just about every time my page loads there is an ad for a smoking alternative, but the only thing my brain really recognizes are a girl smoking a cigarette. It's kind of odd. You would think that a smoking alternative ad would have some more class and not use such an image that could be misconstrued or interpreted. I quit over a year ago and I will admit, this ad triggers my urge to smoke. I am not going to, but it's having quite an effect on me. Anyone else getting this?

[color=dodgerblue]*lights a cigarette*

I have no idea what you are talking about

Couldn't resist, sorry!

The ads are quite suggestive. I also wondered why ATS was allowing it.

Nice. Just don't blow it in my face.

I understand its for a smoking alternative, but the image is so damn suggestive.
I have not had an urge to smoke that I can remember in about a year. This is driving me crazy though....

Mods, work with this client and help em create a better ad. Shiite, I'll design it.

Yep...Same ads all the time. Cure yellow teeth, Beautiful Russian girals are looking for "me", Mom makes £/$ 350 an hour working at home...Even now on youtube, I get an ad before the start of every 3rd video...ads, just ya don't hate em'...I'd love to see an ironic ad like that lol

Just resist if you feel tempted. Go look out the window for a few minutes, look at the sky and take nice breaths of fresh air

To answer the question, I already have a rolly in my mouth, that's why I came in here to check it out. so i'm good thx

Interesting, I learned something new today. Cigarette ads are banned in Australia.
Should be illegal here.

Everytime I see that ad ... I light up a smoke.

Everytime I see a commercial for "smoking aides" or alternatives ... I light up a smoke.

Good luck cluckerspud,

Just wait till they overtly start using the micro wave sound transmitters that make (by use of heterodyne) the voices seem like they are right in your mind...

Man! I really want to step into this shop and have a delicious a pickled icecream beer...and a smoke
I do?

I used lasar therapy which according to science doesn't work to quit smoking....
it even came with a written guarantee
something science could learn from....

I was the kind of smoker who would have sex just so I could have a cigarette afterwards...
so I highly recommend the lasar to anyone actually wants to quit

Well the ads aren't trying to attract non smokers, they are aimed at moving smokers over to smoking what basicly amounts to a different brand (although less harmful) so they still have to try to make smoking look sexy.

Seems like they are using all the old tricks that the tobacco companies used to just like this little gem

unbelievable ad but its real

Cigarette ads are banned in the UK too, and so they should be, dirty filthy habbit, all smokers should be locked away in a dark cold place with only a small TV, a viz comic and a half eaten pot noodle.

Excuse me while I roll a fag and go make a coffee to vent my anger.

Why ATS was allowing it? Seriously? It's an AD! Give me a break. If you don't like it too bad. I can't stand half the "suggestive" commercials on TV. Why do they allow that? Oh wait, they are ads that help pay to keep the site running and the same with TV.

What is it will all the sensitive people on here.

My god you can't satisfy everyone. No matter what ATS does someone will turn something into a complete nothing.

I get ads for Buffy the Vampire Slayer so haven't seen your smoking chick. Maybe it's one of those tracker things that shows ads that are suited to you because I have noticed almost all ads I see are things I am interested in. I don't know what that is called but I know it can happen.

No TV ads, no thats quiet not correct. No ads that let the smoke companies advertise.
But its the government showing us ads that show the dangers of smoking. ie a blood clotted brain getting dicected. A cancer filled lung with all the tar being squeezed out. They are real and graphic.
And now the shops cant even display them to the customers, Yes they are now hidden from view, just like porn....................................................... sorry just dropped my smoke.
P.s well done with ya giving up, im still sorta thinkin about thinkin about given up still.

I actually did see an ad that did that, and it was entertaining. It turned out they were advertising Netflix or something, talking about how you can have no commercials and such.

But yeah, it's rather difficult to moderate ad postings on a website, especially as large as this one. There are probably hundreds of different ads paying ATS to have a space in their banner in order to potentially make a buck of their own from people buying their product, and the moderation of every suggestive image would be highly ineffective.

Also, to the poster above me talking about having no ads, remember that is against the terms of service. The advertisers that keep the site running would not be advertising if everyone simply blocked them.

Woah.

Uh..

Defensive much?

I only said it was suggestive. I never went on any kind of rant. I was only agreeing with cludspucker.. I don't believe my reply to him warranted such a rude response from you.

I've got adblock installed on my browser so I never have the fortune of seeing these ads. I quit smoking for a year when I was 20, then I started going out a lot more with friends who smoked. Of course, when I'd had a drink I was gasping for a ciggie. Managed to quit again now and I've started going the gym, so that will hopefully deter me from picking the habit up again
