Afghan Delegation Heads to Guantanamo Bay

KABUL, Afghanistan - A delegation from Afghanistan's peace council will visit the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay as early as next month to seek the release of Afghan detainees as a goodwill gesture to boost reconciliation talks with the Taliban.

Arsala Rahmani, chairman of the Afghan High Peace Council's committee on prisoners, said Tuesday that President Hamid Karzai had backed the council's decision to travel to Cuba as part of its effort to find a political endgame to the 9-year-old war.

Well now if this just doesn’t take the cake! It seems like after holding for 9 years in illegal detention offshore in Cuba what have been alleged that whole time as the Masterminds behind 9-11, they will soon be released back as free men to Afghanistan without the U.S. public ever knowing what if any involvement these untried, an long held incommunicado accused did or didn’t have to do with 9-11!

Is this Washington’s way of saying ‘my bad’?

Or Washington’s way of covering up for good the evidence that perhaps these men had nothing to do with 9-11 at all.

After spending trillions of dollars, thousands of American lives, and tens of thousand Afghani civilian deaths, is the war in Afghanistan going to soon end, with the Taliban a legitimately recognized entity in Afghanistan, Bin-Laden never found, and none of the pretexts and goals of the war pre-invasion or post accomplished?

It certainly looks that way.

HA ! How the hellfire would Hilary Clinton have a damned CLUE how to construct peace? How would ANY of the people in the US government , have a clue, what that actualy means? If there was any genuine desire to end conflicts, in which the US has participants currently in theatre, then the answer is very simple. You give the military orders to remove themselves, and build your borders up to the point of being nuke proof. The tech and manpower exists to make this happen.
You want peace Mrs Clinton, then get your peoples fingers out of all the nasty pies they keep getting into , shoot the head of Blackwater/Xe dead and post his corpse to his family, and QUIT the global agenda ! Job done!

That was a great post friend.

It seems like this is a story that's going to be overlooked as it's really a potentially huge development in 9-11 conspiracy circles.

I agree the best thing for the U.S. to do is pull back within it's own borders, secure them, work on our own derelict economy and let the world sort out it's own problems without causing any more for it to sort out in the process.

Its not as if the only benifit of such an action would be increased peace either! By avoiding spending the billions a year it costs to run such a foolishly organised military campaign, and by making the comparatively small outlay required to defend its borders properly, the US government could save themselves billions of borrowing, pay off its debts at a higher speed, AND be able to TRUELY speak from the position of moral authority that, at present they cannot fairly claim to occupy.
