Most of our world is too primitive at this stage of its development for truly advanced Social Democracies
to flourish. But, that doesn't mean we can't keep striving to make them a reality for all of us into the near future.

There must be regulations on the greedy and powerful to rein them in and keep them in check.
There needs to be a proper balance between businesses and social programs.

In order for such governments to exist in future they first must truly be of the people. All people must become more nurtured and their potential talents brought out for the benefit of all of society. People must be educated using critical thinking, not rote memorization of dubious information or propaganda.

The first step would be is that People must be considered more valuable then money.

As Earths caretakers All of Earths environments must be cared for and preserved for us and the future.

Not exploited and ruined by greed or carelessness as most if it is now.

Most none Democratic Repressive Gov'ts are repressive of the people whether they are dictatorships or Corporate, or Plutocracy's.

But in reality it's the corporations who OWN the government, and not the other way around. For crying out loud, the latest financial crisis is proof of that...they screwed everyone over, which was only possible because of government deregulation, and then got away with it by getting the government to screw us over even more through bailouts.

And it doesn't even matter which party. Most of the deregulation happened under Bush and Clinton, and the bailouts started under Bush and were then continued by Obama. Face it, it doesn't matter who's in government, CORPORATIONS are running the US...and NOT the other way around. At least if you're looking at the facts instead of opinion blogs

They have become one and the same.

England isn't socialist. Not quite sure where you're getting your information from.

Although a nationalised UK wouldn't be a bad thing. Undo the damage of the Tories.

-do you want an atomic war?
-do the US or anybody else give two f*cks about what such toothless organization like UN have to say?
-are the US in process of massive disarmament?
-how exactly "ALL forms of artistic expression being degraded" right now?
-about #23, please define art and give us a golden standard of it by which everyone should abide. and also point us to the forms of GOOD ART that`s being downplayed, suppressed and degraded.
- you seem to be very image conscious about not being affiliated with communism, yet approve Stalin style repressive measures in place like: banning porn, banning homosexuality etc.
- who and how exactly is belittling all forms of American culture? last i checked Hollywood rules the pop culture of THE WORLD.
- "Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over." huh? i`ve been in the US for about 5 years and guess what i noticed: US love self-aggrandizement- America in its school textbooks is presented as the savior of the world and the sole superman of the WW2. Russians and Co play the second if not the 3d fiddle. but don't worry Soviet school system was exactly the same except Soviets were/are presented as the superstars of WW2. that said, nobody in the US is promoting Russian history.

Yeah, but you're trying to convince people of the hogwash narrative that the government took over corporations (aka communism) when in REALITY, the opposite happened. Since Reagan, corporations infiltrated the government and slowly took over...which most certainly isn't communism, that's corporatism!!

All that is needed is to let people have the political social and economic freedom - and they will do the rest.

Which is precisely what TPTB do not want, hence the constant interferance.

There cannot be a free market if the government controls business through regulation.
A truly free market would be governed only by supply/demand.
This is definitely not the case at all in our world.

And it won't be the case because business controls the votes of the politicians they back and fund.
You are looking at things like a 1 dimensional piece of paper while this country is being gutted by private interests domestic and abroad. Those policies were put into place by politicians who claim to be free marketeers, you look at the NAFTA vote, some of the same pro "free market" players on todays scene, look at the Texas votes. On the world stage our lack of regulations where they exist are trounced by nations that have targeted intelligent regulations. The Chinese take endless advantage of our 1 dimensional perspective - we are perfectly free to destroy ourselves for the benefit of a couple Americans who rig the system here or grease it externally
all the same.

It is like crying "if this house were only constructed of metal!!!" while the wood frame burns down -

Might as well say "if I had only built this house under the ocean"

In this BINARY world we are FORCED to regulate due to monetary systems, so WHILE your house burns down
you can bemoan the lack of purity until you have nothing left.

Next time your car is out of control my friend you apply your monetary policy to your car and tell us how that worked.

I used to be into far left and leftist politics when I was more immature. Growing up to believe everything is the fault of White people, racism, capitalism, and Christianity and Judaism. You come to realize all of the lies produced from the Left; the same with the Right. Only man can have freedom through liberty. Let's say Communism and Socialism was in place then this crooked government. You would have to same problems but they would worse off. People crying to big government on how they can iron out their problems. It's just sad to see how people do not chose to learn from history.

Remember people, when you vote for your own self-interest, you're being "herded." But when your rights are stripped from you for "national security," while police and the military are elevated to become an unquestionable fourth branch of the government, you're experiencing "freedom."

For years most Americans have represented apathy and seflishness. The downfall of the country is well deserved.. it's funny how the fact that America will stop being a superpower used to be a 'conspiracy theory', now no one denies it. Now everyone is saying that America turning into a police state is a big fake conspiracy theory, when will these people learn to wake up?

Exactly. It's the "You're being herded the wrong way! Be herded this way instead." argument that's been going on for years. Politicians are not your friends. We will never ever be the United Socialist States of America or the Imperial States of America. It's all just a distraction game while they (meaning all who desire power above all else) pick your pockets while you're shaking your fists, too busy to notice.

There is no difference between the principles, policies and practical results of socialism and those of any historical tyranny. Socialism is merely democratic absolute monarchy; a system of absolutism without a fixed head, open to seizure of power by any ruthless climber, opportunist, or thug.

When you think of socialism, do not fool yourself about its nature. Remember that there is no such dichotomy as “human rights” versus “property rights.”How can Human rights exist without property rights?
Since material goods are produced by the minds and efforts of individual men and are needed to sustain their lives, if the producer does not own the result of his effort, he does not own his life!

Simply stated: to deny property rights means to turn men into property owned by the state. Whoever claims the “right” to “redistribute” the wealth produced by others is claiming the “right” to treat human beings as property.

What would you define the practice of taxation upon a home that is already paid for and yet one is required by the "state" through the threat of the use of force to continue to pay property taxes upon it year after year?

Exactly!
This is one of the reasons people must learn to think for themselves from a logical frame of mind using reason to deduce what is best for society rather than relying upon the "state" to dictate societal needs.

Really? You do realize that we do not "own property" here anymore, right? We rent it from the state and local governments. If you fail to make your annual "rent" payments(aka property taxes) they will seize your land/home.

They aren't DENYING you property rights, they're taxing it...just like they tax other stuff.

Why you ask?

Next time you drive on a road, think about who pays for that road. Or next time someone stops a shoe bomber at the airport, ask yourself who's paying that guy...and whether or not it's worth it.

Look, government require taxes to run. The alternative is total anarchy and no government...which is surprisingly the view the Tucson shooter had.
