Al Sharpton claims Arizona has Seceded from the united States of America!

Sharptons comment on Arizona having seceded from the union is just wishful thinking, a wish that many many many Americans agree with.

So, soon as y'all can get the ball rolling, we can get a boarder fence going around the former state with gun turrets and drone flyovers.

As a southerner, can yall please leave us out of this discussion? Arizona isn't in the south, I don't know why we have to get drug into any and every discussion on civil rights. The stereotype of the southerner being a racist is just as insulting as stereotypes based on color, although to tell the truth it IS a stereotype based on being white.

Anyway, yall have a great day and its sad to see any thread about Reverend King turn into a bunch of hate and insults. MLK's message was one of unity and peace, not division.

I'll now be logging out, threads like this (and the Red/Blue debates) are why I only browse every now and then instead of posting.

BINGO! Our nation's MSM and those who blindly back their every word, lie or half truth has reached epidemic proportions. Sharpton's claim is simply pathetic and clearly indicates that he is overdue for a thorough mental evaluation.

However, this type of behavior is exactly what the current administration is looking for in its people. They want us to want the govt. and its media outlets to tell us what to think and what to believe. The truth means nothing. This is about control over the lemmings and the sheep. Witht Sharpton and MSNBC pushing this BS it soon becomes water cooler conversation on Monday and people believe it to be true!!!!

Isn't this just the politicians bending to the will of the people to stay in favor? They have no real intention of seceding, they just make the noises about reaffirming their ability to secede to keep a section of their state on their side.

It's a move to secure more votes and nothing more.

In fact, I would dare to say that many of these states leaderships are terrified of the idea of actually doing this. They are in their jobs for the money, opportunities and status. Breaking away from the federal government would definitely gain them a place in the history books, but it would mean them losing their access to a comfortable life at the expense of the tax paying public.

A very good book to read about MLK is "Hellhound On His Trail", "the stalking of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the international hunt for his assassin" by Hampton Sides. This is very well researched and extremely well written.

However, the only thing that seceded was Al Sharptons brain, missing for a long time now.

If you and I discussed things one on one, I bet a LOT of what we both believe would be the same.

There would me minor differences, but not much.

I am a Constitutional Libertarian. It is slightly different than a straight Libertarian by the fact that I believe in the tenet of our Constitution.

Things like what I showed in the OP are being used to strike a vitriolic divide and conquer routine.

If you still believe that Arizona does not celebrate the MLK holiday, you would be WRONG.

Please at least admit what they do on MSNBC is lie and use their misinformation for their agenda.

If not, you are part of the problem.

Hopefully we will. Then Pres Obama can give all the people who aren't crazy gun toting conservative tea party nuts a way to get "deported" as an agreement for the succession.

I actually miss the side component that had the list of recent threads, recently flagged and top threads.

But, you have to admit, ol Al Sharpton did say that Arizona has seceded. I mean, that is what MSNBC does is lie right?

Instead of Aarizona segregating from the union, can the "unon" just get together and segregate DC?

Specifically, it does mean Presidents Day is not a federally recognized holiday and that Washington's Birthday is not typically a holiday recognized by the states. That is neither here nor there though as the topic of the thread is about Sharpton and MSNBC stating that Arizona does not observe MLKjr Day and that they've already seceeded from the Union.

What's your take on those blatant lies, accidental or with intent?
Taken in conjunction with the perceived political slant in the aftermath of the shooting in AZ which the "left" views as instigated by 'Palin and the "right"' yet somehow carries implications of a "left" on "left" attack, does this demonstrate just how far the "left" is willing to go to acheive a victory, by obviously intentional mis-information?
Do you feel inaccurate information from Sharpton and the media could instigate more violence, both in words and the physical, towards and within Arizona?
