Seriously, I think it's important to accept the existence of Alien life (if there is, and I'm sure about that) to get a step forward... confirmation of Alien life would be start a new (hopefully better) age of humanity... and so would be the contact with a neutral or good-natured Alien race.
They maybe could bring us great technologies, especially "clean energy" and maybe we would be able to be a "space-faring" race as well (of course we are already spacefaring, but I mean that we can travel distances we couldn't imagine before)...

good answer. I think thats probably the best we could hope for, i feel pretty safe to say that most people would like to have it all turn out like futurama.

Ok now we have had a few suggestions how about this

That the ET's are decent beings, so that they keep our governments in check.

Yes this is true... But too many people are indoctrinated with the current system to think outside the box to perform this action.

The common conception is that "The voting system doesn't work... Why bother anyway?".
Which is true... The voting system DOESN'T work.

So here is the answer... Don't use it.
Find another way to achieve the same results.

I agree with you voting doesnt work. i have voted once since i was allowed and that was when i was 18 just cause i could. I see it at a complete waste of time.

Theres no clear way of checking that the govenment havent fixed the election.

What i dont get is...people moan and winge about their govenments (but yet like here in the uk i cant remember how long they were in for but labour party they were crap) but yet people still went down to vote to keep them in?

my head works in weird ways if people cant see the obvious then it really winds me up lol

Yep, I feel the same.
No longer does common sense rule, nor does logic.

This is the way the Governments want it and that is the way they will try and keep it.

We just have to wait for enough people to 'wake up' so that we can move with greater force.

Also iv noticed alot of people when doing something that involes thinking they over think things make everything harder than it is. I dont know why but i seem to always be telling people the simple way of doing things.

i personally hope that If they were to disclose then maybe free energy, cleaner living, better transport, new technology, world peace or is that to much to ask? and space travel would be pretty fun.
