Hi everybody,

straight to the point:

Imagine you have an audio file, you know (or assume) there is a important message on it.
But the sound is just plain weird.

If you listen to it again and again you think there are 3 different layers of sound;

- one layer sounds like a rythmic song, that is played backwards AND forwards at the same time (typical backwards audio, but some words are understood, played backwards the beat still sounds backwards !?)

- one layer of speech (somehow "hidden", hearable but not understandable)

- one layer of "background noises" which sound quite normal

its not my field so i am putting the question out there:
How to encipher/decipher audio ?? Any hints ?

Can't give you more information at the time, obvious reasons.

Once you have audacity you can perform high and low band filters to extract the sound at different frequencies. There are also tools to reverse, alter speed and heaps of other stuff available, good luck.

Steinberg Wavelab, and a few thousand $$ of audio plug-ins will let you extract any audio, in any range, in any direction.

Seriously---post a link to it and I am sure there are a few dozen audio guru's here who can extract just about anything.

this is the clip.

so i used audacity, backwards you hear a song of 2pac, and some other voice on the lower bandwith,
I cant extract this one.

Audacity seems to be a great tool, the user (me) is too stupid in this case.

Can someone tell me how to "extract" only the lower frequencies ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I saw that you offered to decipher a voice mail. I have a voice mail that I know is a track that needs to be split. (I think that is the right way of saying it)
I used audacity and found someone saying "switch" on the track when I reversed a part. I really want to know what else is on the track.

I was wondering if you could help me. I have an audio sound that is about 3 minutes long. It is a vm left on my phone. I think there is a faint song in the background but I can't make out what it sounds like.
the picture is in the background bc I needed something so I just grabbed it, no relation to the sound bite

Thanx in advance!
