There is a thread on this already. It's labeled something like a planet crossing the sun.

It's the satellite apparently adjusting. It's nothing exciting

never mind, embed done by some one else.

It's the camera doing an adjustment , you will notice the brightness in the sun when it passes over the lens.

Looks to me like someone is having some fun with their recordings. You don't think that if that were REAL, amateur astronimists worldwide would have seen that, and it'd be all over the news, and Internet? Hell, it's only been viewed 90 times!
It's clearly not what it's supposed to be..... Whatever that is.

I think that its got something to do with the geminid meteor shower. Well not so much the meteor shower but more to do with where they came from.

It is the moon. It is not from either SOHO or STEREO, but a different satellite in orbit around the earth, where the moon can block some of the image on occassion.

If that's the case why would they send them any further than the one that captured this?
So has anyone worked out if its correct? Mathematically that is?

It's a sequence of images from the SDO (Solar Dynamic Observatory)
You can Google it to check.
Nothing malevolent or to do with armegeddon. Sorry. Those of you looking for some apocalyptic scenario should probably just keep on moving...
