Enormous Ring is Developing on the Sun!

beforeitsnews.com

What is this strange ring that has been developing on the Sun?

Sunspot 1112, located in the southeast quadrant, has been the source of a giant filament that is currently stretching 400,000 km across the surface of the Sun.

However, today, there appears to be development of a enormous circular ring which looks to be linking with the huge magnetic filament of sunspot 1112. Most of today’s various wavelength images of the Sun all show this feature over at the SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) – NASA website.

This thing is pointed directly towards Earth! Look at it. Have you ever seen anything like it in any picture of the sun, ever? I don't know if this could erupt into a massive CME or not, but this certainly bears watching over the next few days. I hope we don't get thrown into the dark ages, but something like this could easily be X class, I believe.

This could turn really bad...

I noticed it too earlier when checking out spaceweather.com. It looks like a storm of sorts is brewing on the surface to me, like the winds are swirling around in a circular motion. Never seen it before in my 4 yrs of sun watching on nasa, soho images.

My imagination leads me to think what if it just blows the whole section right at us.

hmm.

phage? oz? resident astronomers or sun watchers?

I'm stuck, I've been digging through digital piles of old stereo images to no avail.

I don't watch the Sun but that is one huge ring..
Where are the experts to tell us all is fine?? Please!

jeesus.....well...i have been having dreams about something like this happening. In one form or another. I was on or near the beach and had this overwhelming feeling that something was about to happen. The feeling i felt was that of everyone on the planet waiting for something to arrive. I hope it wasnt this. I have been paying attention to the solar activity. And havnt seen anything like this either. lets just hope that ATS has made a back up generator for everyone of there family memebers!!
grrreat thread btw.

I think its time to watch for earthquakes. Last time the solar flux made it to 91 the haiti quake happened. The solar flux is currenty at 87. Yesterday it was at 82. It's rising fast.

looks intense!

as i don't know much about solar activity i too will have to sit and wait for a local solar expert to chime in with there opinion (doesn't mean i will blindly believe it as fact, just nice to digest)

am i the only one who see's the firefox logo in the picture on the right? ha.

okay now i am scared
ive checked and its there
ive skiped through archive pics and i dont see it on any other pics so dont anybody say `its a common appearance`

its not a glitch as ive seen it on other sources

this is scary

ive looked up `sun ring phenomena` and other things hoping that there is a name for it, and its a natural phase but ive found nothing about rings forming on the sun

this could turn bad

are the main stream media talking about it? they are going to have to

flagged
please update as soon as youve more info

That's huge!

for some reason i'm inclined to pull out my tin-foil hat...

never seen anything like that before.. chances are it will be nothing, not expecting something really big to effect us for another two years, in December...

I have been watching the sun for a few years now and that is new to me.
But I won't say it is anything to worry about.
The sun is very unpredictable indeed, but all the other measurable readings dont suggest anything concerning...
at least not yet anyway.
something to keep an eye on for sure.

geez, the sun gets a bad case of ring worm
and some folks go nuts. Phage or Oz will be along
shortly to knock out the end of the world theories.
Calm down folks. There is enough chemtrails
in our skies to protect us from a CME of epic
proportions.

GREAT FILAMENT: A vast filament of magnetism is cutting across the sun's southern hemisphere today. Run a finger along the golden-brown line in this extreme UV image from the Solar Dynamics Observatory and your digit will have traveled more than 400,000 km:

There isn't really any "ring" developing. There are two (at least) quite separate filaments which can be seen more clearly in the 193nm image.

In any case, filaments do not really produce very strong CMEs and they don't connect to each other.

As the article at Spaceweather says, the lower part is a filament connected to sunspot 1112.

The top part is a coronal hole I think.

Solar wind from that is on it's way to earth and will arrive on the 19th - 20th.
