Quote from an interview with Michelle Obama by Black America News -

Black America News

So, once again, we have the power. We’ve got this man in office. I think we’re all proud of Barack and his accomplishments. Everybody I know in our communities are praying for us. Every day we feel that. And let me just tell your listeners that it means all the world to us to know that there are prayer circles out there and people who are keeping the spirits clean around us.

Hmmm ... if this had been said by someone on the right ... like a Christine O'Donnell or a Sarah Palin or the Bushes (any of them), etc ... we'd be hearing shouts of how their backwards religion was. But Michelle Obama, saying that they feel the prayers of the prayer circles, and that this is 'keeping the spirits clean around us', goes unmentioned.

Either the press and the left need to lay off those on the right who believe in prayer and in evil spirits that need cleaning out, or they need to nail the Obama's for having the same beliefs. Michelle said 'THEY' feel the prayers and that it is keeping the spirits clean around 'US'. She included her husband in her statement.

Political madness ... the Obamas can appreciate prayer circles that keep clean spirits around them, but it's a no-no for a Republican to say the same thing. Just an observation ....

This is part and parcel of the voodoo religion, which believes in clean and evil spirits, which control the lives of followers. Voodooism has become a strong force in Africa: It certainly gives pause regarding Obama and his Kenyan roots.

Followers believe in a supreme God and spirits who link the human with the divine. Spirits are thought to exist in many things - from the earth, wind, thunder, giant baobab trees and pythons.

Agreed - if anyone on the Left participate in religion, the MSM ignore anything that might disparage those for whom they carry water - if anyone on the Right participate in religion, the MSM look down their nose with utter disdain.

well man the way i was raised everything that a christian seeking social justice goes against the very core belief in the bible...............

its all about helping one self not having your hands out for help.......................the bible itselfs speaks against communism and socialism...........

from the ten commandments to the seven deadly sins.........................god himself wouldnt hold a gun to the head of man and take something away from him because someone else deemed that he had too much..........

im talking about my beliefs your free to beleive what you will and i am........the majority of all problems in todays society is mans own arrogance trying to walk in gods shoes.............the only real justice that comes in this world is either from his word or his actions................not mans.

This argument isn't even about Obama.

The problem is the outright hypocrisy the media and the left shows when they assassinate someone's character.

Yes, I know that. However, she LIVES with him, listens to his beliefs, and probably is trying to support him, with his beliefs.

S&F. Religous bias aside in the media, yup a republican wouold have been crucified for it lets look at the statment "We have the power".....................hmmmmm, sounds like pure and blatant racism to me. Must be something she learned in Wrights church............imagine a white first lady saying that? Ah well, just more ignorance from the Obamas, I swear, by the end of his term, they just may make the Clintons look ethical.

Haven't People Learned the Lesson Yet ? Religion and Politics don't MIX . The Issues are the Only Thing that Matter . Everything Else is Irrelevent .

One does notice that a prayer circle somewhat pales in comparison to trying to orchestrate the second coming, and the "rapture".

I was always amazed at the ego of someone who believed they had the power to manipulate in this way.

Mrs. Obama, it seems to me, is exercising her freedoms, and her prayer circle hurts no one, imo.

I have never heard of keeping the spirits clean.

Can anyone find out what Christian denomination preaches how prayer keeps the spirits clean around you?
