2000 gold price was 265/ ounce
2010 gold price is 1340/ounce.

Gold has increased 500 percent in the past 10 years, however, since gold stays historically the same value, this means that the dollar has really lost 80 percent of its value. The 2000 dollar was 5 times as much as the 2010 dollar.

I am of the impression that money will no longer be of much value in the future.

All good dictators ruin their currency for the profit of government at the cost of its peoples homes, jobs and welfare. Zimbabwe is a prime example.

If you wish to take away the "safety net" of an entire country then devalue it currency. People become more dependent on the Government for simple needs, in return this is rewarded by obedience and control.

Just saying.

So, perhaps the artificial gold bubble is really just the artificial dollar sinkhole.

With China purposely deflating it's own currency, I've seen it speculated that our currency will be intentionally devalued as well.

a PM to a moderator would have fixed it for you the "ATS way".

but on topic, this could be among the most horrifying things I have ever read.

Our nation is not our currency, but our currency sure does impact our nation. my grandfather fought in WWII. Were he alive, he would be ashamed.
