macedoniaonline.eu...

An anti-tax, anti-government Tea Party has set up shop in Australia, inspired by the US-based movement that has turned the Republican Party upside down.

The Australian T.E.A. Party (an acronym for Taxed Enough Already) will be targeting pre-selections across the country and heavily promotes its links to "our friends" in the United States.

Reluctant spokesman David Goodridge - "just call me the website editor" - says the grassroots movement has no plans to register as a political party, won’t stand candidates and won’t accept politicians as members.

Oh boy, America has really been screwing up Australia in the past decade. They have taken a liking to our culture of fast food and television, now we are giving them the TEA Party. Can I say on behalf of all the American Left, We are truly sorry.

It says that the TEA Party of Australia has no figurehead, but apparently they really like Queensland Premier Joh Bjelke-Peterson, similar to the American verson of Sarah Palin.

In his first post on the T.E.A. Party’s website, Mr Goodridge argues that between big business and unions there is "a distinction without a difference in that the average Aussie is getting done over it is just a different set or subset of rapists doing the screwing".

I love 'politically incorrect'.

Egads !

That's the last thing we need here in Australia.Joe Bjelke was one of the good ol' boys,he taught generations of Queenslanders the meaning of corruption.(ie,he sold the Bowen coal basin that was worth BILLIONS to a Texas consortium for $20).Did i fail to mention that he got all the contracts to service their mining equipment?

So if this twonk idolizes good ol Joe,i think we should pass this one,and start E.P.P.A (Enough Parasitical Politicians Already)

it's all because, they are racist... and descendants of criminals... I guess they are all stupid too? The Liberal Elite has spoken, and they are sorry, sorry that The TPM has poisoned your island. I myself am sorry, and weep for your children. there is a cancer growing in your country, a cancer called concern. I know it seems cool to worry about that path of one's country, but it is a one way ticket to nowheresville. It may seem wonderful to have pride in one's country, but have you ever thought about how this will effect your countries whinny liberal population?
your being selfish Australia... I just hope you all become compliant, little PC loving, over educated ,under common sensed liberals... only this will make you happy...

How can you call them a Party when the state in your OP that they will not elect candidates?

Its just a few people with an opinion, like the 1000's of such groups that pop up all around the world.

Hardly woth a thread on ATS and quite missleading in the Title.

When you use an article from an outside source ATS requires you to use the title of that source.

It was not my opinion, pay attention.

Ahh, I see you missed the memo. This is world-wide "sling mud at anyone who isn't an American liberal democrat or the equivalent for other countries" month. Mud-slinging festivities are planned daily for at least the next two weeks, possibly the next two months if enough people join the fun. Beer garden's out back. Horseshoes are to the east. And the "Egg a politician" booth is being set up in that big tent over there. Don't forget to buy a t-shirt to show your mud-slinging support!

Actually there Liberals in Australia are the Right. Why do you think their Center-right party is called the Liberal Party?

Always made me laugh when i first became politically aware of Australian parties. The Conservative Party changed their name to the "Liberals".Someone had a sense of humor there !

Back to the TEA "party".Australia is already swimming in corruption,we don't need no more sewage in this farm.

Tell you what...you take back old Rupe and his trash media and in return, we will take back the tea party...fair deal?

and if that doesn't work, we will totally drop the Palin on you...now take him off our shores!

I wouldn't wish Rupert Murdoch on my worste enemy and that is how you treat a supposed friend? You deserve everything you get from us Australia! Let's send them Palin, Beck and Limbaugh. That should make things even.

Prime Minister Sarah Palin sounds like a good payback.

Liberals = Neo-Liberal Economics

TEA Party, Totally Exempt of Aptitude

The Tea Party have no idea what they're doing, they have some vague notion that the country is messed up, but have no idea how to fix it.

What's wrong with being a liberal democrat?

Are you people really that polarized by a label? What if I were a handsome, self-made liberal democrat?

Its getting to the point in our politics were i "believe" preselection for candidates will be determined on a show not unlike the X-Factor.Heck,policies are already chosen by racing cane-toads with numbers on them(or so it feels like)

Something does need to happen in Australia though, the censorship thing is a really freaking big issue...the government there is quickly becoming scary big brother..
Once they tell a full grown adult that he cannot see violent content because its rude, or porn because its dirty, and they are going to censor the internet from things they find objectionable and lacking moral value...ya, thats when you use words, and if that doesn't work, time to step it up to the next level.

You can split hairs about how some aspects of the government sanitizing the world for you can be a good thing, right up until they eliminate any and all forms of communication due to the potential of corrupt knowledge coming into the island...ya..time to stand up, toss out the nuts and nannys and get back to personal responsibility and judgement.

Nothing in and of itself. It was just easier to say everyone but them than to list all the groups we're supposed to fling mud at this month. Depending on who you talk to, and who the president is, I'm a liberal democrat.

Are you people really that polarized by a label? What if I were a handsome, self-made liberal democrat?

Nope. And I'd say.. congratulations?

I've poked fun at the TPM but I actually wish them the best; and here's why...

The TPM has morphed into a marketing Juggernaut with conservative politics as nothing more than the
framework to hang all the ugly merchandise on.

www.cafepress.com...

And I must confess; I saw this coming a year ago and invested a fair amount of coin in different ad agencies that cater to this type of marketing of political crap. Buy that stuff, help make a liberal wealthy.

With just a little capital, a little knowledge, and a whole lot of awareness; a savvy entrepreneur can get filthy rich. You can also lose your shirt and wind up in chapter 11 as I have done on more than a few occasions. financial-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com... This time yeehawww!

God bless the American free enterprise system. OZ you're next!!
