What the article DOESN'T take into account though is it also takes time to copy (technically an "upload") the data from the "original source" onto the USB thumbdrive.... THAT would take some time too, and just to point out....-most- people have fast than 100kps-200kps broadband connections. Hell that's hardly considered broadband since DIAL-UP used to run at 54kbps. Me personally I get 1.5MBPS down, 700KBPS up. I'm willing to wager if you tried the same test here in Ohio AND included the time it took to upload the data onto the thumbdrives (which you should). I could beat out the pigeons no problem.

An hour and a quarter later, the pigeons had reached their destination in Skegness 120km away, while only 24% of a 300MB file had uploaded.


Let me do some quick math

They uploaded only 72MB in 75 minutes?

I can upload 300MB in a few minutes.
