What was all this fuss, and now the US claims they knew about it, and they don't believe it has any nuclear function.

Maybe because that dumb move the US pullet the hiker's release has been released. ZZZ.

This is embarrassing:

But nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi insisted Iran had declared all of its activities to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

US officials said they knew about the plant but did not believe it had a nuclear function.

www.bbc.co.uk...

This move is to set the stage some might say, who knows, all I know is that this could have been the potential reason for the delay of American prisoners.

But they have also made exaggerated and mistaken allegations, and analysts say they have a clear political agenda.

www.bbc.co.uk...

Thanks a lot

A presidential official, quoted by the state Irna news agency, said: "The spy's release had been delayed."

I'm sure that the "People's Mujahideen of Iran" (PMOI) is a CIA and Mossad asset, most likely revived solely for this purpose. I hardly believe anything about Iran coming through the MSM. After all, Iran is the new target and we are going to be told whatever it takes to justify war with them. Trust me, if it's said about Iran in the western MSM, it most likely propaganda, spin, disinformation or any combination thereof.

The really scary thing here, is what deal our intelligence agencies have made with this PMOI. Hopefully, it's just money and not really favors that will only bite us in the rear end at the end of the day.

From what i gather of the NNPT ,Iran is not obliged to notify the IAEA of the existence of any facility, until 180 days prior to it receiving nuclear material .

Just another round of placing the words `Iran` and `Atomic` in an attention grabbing headline .An insidious drip-drip of shaped messages for public consumption.

Now here is the question I have on the entire US intelligence on Iran is this:
We have no diplomatice mission on Iran, and have no real network of people in Iran, and only have a general ideal about what the technology that the Iranians have, how can we really be sure of what the Iranians do and do not have? After all they are not allowing any inspectors into the country and the only way that we know for sure what all is going on is coming from second hand reports and satellites that fly over, beyond that the information is spotty at best. This all goes back to when Jimmy Carter was in office and after the Islamic Revolution that diposed the Shah, we lost all contact with that country, and the only way we really hear about what is going on in Iran, comes from reports by those who leave Iran as disadents and immigrants.
Knowing that, there are three possiblities:
1) China is telling the US to back down.
2) In exchange for the three hikers, the US is trying a ploy to ease tensions.
3) An easing of tensions between Iran and the US.

Oh, nice... So who's we? Does that include you?

Why is it that politicians and media are so disconnected from the facts? We have one group of people hell bent on proving that Iran's got some huge nuke program. And frankly, they need to just shut up already until the IAEA comes out and unequivocally states, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they have found hard evidence of such a program. Until then,

To an extent.

You shouldn't be troubled about it though.

We are all exposed now, to one degree or another.

A level playing field in some strange new way.

The good news is that it is Our Playing Field.

Exposed>?

ZZZ, last I heard drunk driving kills more Americans than any terrorist attacks in American soils, you guys don't spend billions of dollars on defense for nothing.

9/11 was orchestrated, if you think that the Jets, the Drones, the Satellites, the best communication system in the world, the missiles, the anti-aircraft defense systems etc etc can't stop hijacked planes which has no means of defense, and no artillery, then you are still being sheeped around.

You are exposed internally more than externally, there are over a million Americans in prison for a reason you know. Huge number of murders, huge number of suicides, huge number of rapes, huge number of pedophilia, huge number of male/female assault, huge number of gang banging assault....

These statistics, you guys should spend those billions of dollars fixing those issues, but the MSM doesn't want your focus on those issues, which are kinda more important than Iraq imaginary WMDs..

Damn embarassing..

Somehow I do not believe that if we are getting caught off guard by other countries revealing newer weapons systems that is making the defense department take and step back and having to revaluate the state of things. Thus it is correct to state, that we really do not know what all is going on in Iran.
Even during the cold war, we had a better knowledge of what all was going on in the Soviet Union and eastern bloc countries than we do with some countries currently around the world.
A good point and case about Iran, is that the US was totally caught off guard the first time that the Iranians launched and retrieved an object shot into space. We did not even know that they had that level of technology, and it was not something that we were expecting or guessing that was even possible for that country.
So with that in mind, how can the US be absolutely sure of what all is going on in Iran?

Kinda this whole thread is about how the US knew about this wink wink nudge nudge secret site, and knew it didn't have any nuclear function.

What is your point?

This proves that the US does know

The point is that we should really question what the US CIA really does and does not know, before we actually decide that it is worth the risk of going to war again.
The countries that the US has no ties with, where they are closed, and there are a few, the US can only speculate and get second hand information about what the capacity is and is not and what that country is capable of. The US needs to get first hand information, before making a firm decision and course of action. If the last 10 years have taught us anything, it should be that second hand information and rumors are often wrong and do lead to diseasterous mistakes. Need I remind everyone about the Weapons of Mass Destruction that were reported to be in Iraq, that never showed up after an exhausting search?

With the potential for a war, would it not be better to be absolutely sure about the information, that beyond a shadow of a doubt that the information is accurate? The Iranian regiem and theocracy is not one to mess with, having allies around the world. We have no real way how to gauge what the technology level of Iran is. They have on different occasions produced things that shocked the current adminstration, catching those in Washington off guard and by surprise. After all, they were shocked, when the Iranians sucessfully launched a rocket into space, carrying living organisms and had them return to earth alive and no one, not any of the intelligence agencies, not the defense department, not even the President of the United States at the time, or any of our allies were prepared for that, being caught off guard. And all of this was while Iran was suppose to be under sanctions. The manufacturing capacity of this country has shocked time and time again, the world with what they are putting out, and that is something that we all should be worried about.
Make no mistake, being cautious is not paranoia. By approaching with caution, and not jumping to conclusions, by learning from the mistakes of the past, we prevent another endless conflict that would drag on for years. The one main concern that many people should be more worried about is that Iran is excelling in the area of engineering, and that is something that they really should be paying attention to, along with where they are getting the technology from.

How is being cautions and wanting to make absolutely sure being Paranoid? We went into Iraq with being told that there were Weapons of Mass Destruction, and after we got in, we did not find such anywhere at all. No nuclear, no biological, no chemical, no wmds at all. And they searched all of Iraq. The public and world was lied to on that aspect about that reason. The end result was that Iraq was plunged into about 9 years of conflict and suffering. Peace is not a bad thing and knowing the truth of the matter is also good. One would hope and expect that if a country is going into an armed conflict, one of the conditions that is required for winning is that the population that is at home need to have confidence of such, and by lieing to the general population, the moment that it came out that the world was lied to about the weapons of mass destruction, the support for the conflict in Iraq went south real quick.
We can not afford to go into another armed conflict, uninformed or ill prepared, and the government is going to want to know the truth of the reasons behind such, to include first hand information about what the capacity of the other country is. If you do not know, and only go off of what is hearsay, then it is a reciepe for diseaster.

Lets get down to business of the future.

The risks are many, the past misunderstood and costly.

To consider an agreement of mutual trust and alliance between Iran and The United States of America

would be challenging. The immediate results of such an unprecedented event would be historically monumental

and fascinating.

To know that a sincere apology and humble respect is but all that stands in the way of this diplomatic duty,

is encouraging.

An alliance such as this could fortunately reshape the world as we know it.

If The United States of America were to be Allies with both Iran and Israel . Together. Imagine That.

I respectfully submit that to the Foreign Relations Council of ATS. Regards...
