Of course Iran is going to remain defiant. They have had no reason not to. The sanctions may be effecting the civilian populous in Iran but it surely isn't effecting the government leaders.

Iran will continue to work on their nuclear program, which they have every right to, until they are forcefully stopped.

Now there are also reports in the media about Iran paying the Taliban for every U.S. soldier killed. This may be true, but it has been made public only to make the people of the U.S. hate Iran more than they already do.
