The Alberton UFO footage, Australia, 1967:

This is a case that interests me and hopefully interests the ATS team. Some other members have touched on this story in other threads but there is no actual thread on it as far as I can find.

The conspiracy surrounding this film footage/ sighting is amazing, right down to the film footage being damaged by a NASA analyst, court action to release the findings,

I was hoping the ATS team could help out with any other information/ links, analyses of the pictures taken from the film footage. I have tried for weeks but I keep getting either the same story or a 404 error message from other sites that no longer exsist

THE EVENTS:
On an evening in May or June 1967, Mr. and Mrs. Mathews has just returned to their home in Alberton, South Australia, and were preparing themselves to get to bed early, after watching some television for a while. At one time they went outdoors, during a commercial break on television, to get some fresh air.

Apparently, the analysis of these ten frames before it was lost was done using microscopic enlargement and it revealed "a circular craft free from protrusions." The interpretation was that the craft was motionless, facing the camera with an illuminated compartment window emanating a bluish light, and a series of dark portholes running around the entire illuminated circumference.

The discussion of the "damaged film" is relevant:

"A series of claims and denials regarding the film whereabouts caused months of delay. A court case ensued in October 1969 and it was revealed that the film had been damaged accidentally during processing, and the film strip was eventually returned in totally worthless condition, having sustained damage along its entire length.

Good stuff and a great thread. Maybe, then again maybe not... The next time someone asks the immortal question... "How come there's never any decent photo's footage of UFO's"? People can reply ,

"Cos every time we seem to find any and a government agency goes anywhere near it, the either lose it... asre the Scottish UFO and Harrier Jump jet photo/ Woomera cancelled Blue Streak test footage, or they screw the processing up... ala Rendlesham and this incident.

What happened in this instance isn't the only case i remember from the 50s and 70s. I'm still rooting through a few older books to dig out several more cases where people submitted, what they thought were perfectly good pictures to be told... "oh we lost the film".."oh there was a fault processing it" by the Government agency they handed it over to.

What happened in this instance isn't the only case i remember from the 50s and 70s. I'm still rooting through a few older books to dig out several more cases where people submitted, what they thought were perfectly good pictures to be told... "oh we lost the film".."oh there was a fault processing it" by the Government agency they handed it over to.

Here is a brief commentary stating the Alberton UFO is definitive proof that UFO’s are powered by ”Perpetual Motion Ionic Impulse Force”

”The re-cycling of the mercury vapors to keep the craft in a hover mode is about 3 cycles per second, and therefore is very difficult for the human eye to follow this process. The ABSOLUTE PROOF of all of the above is found a movie strip of a UFO hovering in our atmosphere while utilizing the Ion Impulse Force System.

This movie strip was shot with a camera at a speed of 18 frames per second that showed this process perfectly. This process of re-cycling the vapors are easily seen when the frames are analyzed in sequence, and lift can be measured on the craft from this clip, as the ions are deflected downward. Should anyone care to analyze this movie strip for himself, it is called "The Alberton Spacecraft", and was shot over Alberton, South Australia, in June of 1967, by Mr. James E. Mathews (a construction manager). From his account, he was testing his camera, and shot a small light in the sky. He thought nothing about it, and it was actually a year later that he developed the film when he noticed what it really was.”[i/]

The following comment notes an article, but it is not clear if it is the same article that appears to the only article, being the one which we can see repeated everywhere.
