Giant rats - of the kind terrorising an estate in Bradford, West Yorkshire - have now been found 64 miles away in Lincoln.
Pest firm Rentokil was called to the Lincolnshire plant after workers complained about a pair of giant rodents stalking the grounds at night, and even seasoned pest-control specialists were alarmed by their size
Spokesman Malcolm Padley told The Sun newspaper: ' They were both around 2ft and it's fair to say that our technicians were very surprised at the size.'

The Lincoln specimens follow the discovery of a 30in rodent spotted - and killed - near the Ravenscliff

I found this quite an interesting find.Not really one for the mythical beasts category so I thought Id put it in breaking news!Has anyone else in other parts of the world seen an increase in the size of the rat population? Why are they getting bigger? Does it say something of us as a throwaway society these days? Id appreciate anyones thoughts or theories.

maybe it's the same reason people are getting bigger....
growth hormones are given to our beef, chickens, ect....and well, those who consume the meat are also consuming the growth hormones???

then again,
we have these cute little critters roaming free and multiplying in florida...

florida also has giant lizards roaming free...

We lived in Bradford a couple of years ago. One summer afternoon the cat and I were in the kitchen with the back door open. All of a sudden there was a bloody great big rat sat on the doorstep staring at us, it wasn't quite the two foot long variety but it was easily a good 18 inches, excluding the tail, I looked at the rat, the rat looked at the cat, the cat looked at me. I moved my gaze to the cat and suggested she did her "thing". She declined, and luckily for all concerned the rat ran off.

The luckiest thing about the episode was that my wife was busy with something and didn't notice, otherwise people would still be talking about the "Bradford Scream"!!!

I would honestly crap myself!

Even normal rats petrify me.

I remember this from a year or so ago.
