Addicted to ATS?

Knowledge is a good addiction. It's amazing how far some push the limits here on ATS, physically and mentally.

I personally have had bouts of non-stop reading to the point of complete exhaustion, sound familiar?

The lurkers of ATS seem to soak up boundless amounts of new knowledge, some to never post a single thread or even respond to a thread. Why? Do they retain qualities of great restraint or do they wish to remain anonymous because of latent fears.

What brought you to ATS?

I know for me it was the diversity of this site, and the amazing amount of intelligent people and information.

What keeps you at ATS?

The same as above, but reading the new bits of information that surface, and being able to communicate with those intelligent, seemingly witty people and sometimes not so witty. lol

I have learned so much here at ATS, and look forward to the infinite amount of information that is only a keystroke away.

So yes I am addicted, guilty as charged.

I mainly use ATS for getting news, but im quite happy to comment on any board or topic in the end. But still, when push comes to shove the main attraction for me is getting the news before anyone else, along with many knowledgeable people commenting on it.

I came for the UFO's I stayed because of the volume of conspiracies. Also Its really interesting to see current world events from conflicting views.

ATS is the best place to find every news report across the world, all in one place.

Breaking news gets me visiting here everyday but that didn't get me joining up.

The rest of ATS made me fall in love with the place and desire to make an account and join in.

Great site.

Great community.

Craziness and all, ATS is the best place to keep me informed and challenged in thought.

Even after they ban me, I'll still lurk here happily.

I have to admit to being addicted to ATS, I dont really go to many other sites. I just like the whole interaction with people from all over the world and havn't really experienced the rudeness and anger that is said to be infecting these parts of late. I find most people are pretty polite and even when having some heated discussions, most people will remain cordial. I try to avoid the religious debates, it's basically like banging your head against a brick wall, so best left to squabble amongst themselves.

Most of the members do seem to be quite intelligent. I know many of the UK posters put me to shame with their knowledge and experience, so there is much to be learnt from your fellow ATS members.

It is a shame many fall for the stupid posts and believe in predictions, but at the end of the day its a conspiracy site, so what should we expect.

sometimes I think ATS is better than SEX !!!

I am thinking of quitting, but there is no 'nicotine patch' for ATS.

When BP was doing the top kill procedure, some how I ended up on ATS. There was a thread about it and I checked it out. The experts here on ATS knew the top kill procedure had failed well before the MSM reported it. Very impressive. Right now I'm not working alot, three paint jobs so far this summer and normally this time of the year I'm busy 24\7. I'm addicted. I'm a truth seeker. I wake up in the middle of the night and go to ATS. I love this site. It's the greatest!

I am actually leaving ATS and not coming back after realizing how underhandedly this site is censored, so many threads/posts just disappear around here for my liking. I even made a thread addressing this and It was deleted In seconds. How can a site call themselves "above top secret" then try to hide things. Somehow, I'm not visiting the porn sites anymore. But ATS is by every few hours. I'm also getting better at my typing skills, as seen on TV!

PS: I'm still waiting my first encounter with UFO, am I that ugly ?

I always enjoy checking out all the new reports on ATS. Most things are relevant in some way yet maybe not at a particular moment. It keeps me informed, on whats going on in the world, through the many sources the members use and put up.

Most of all, the responses by the many members are for the most part their own insght and are varied so I get a larger picture of whats going on and how others feel about it. Its great!

Hey Realtruth, yes, I guess when ya sit down to ATS while the sun's out, then suddenly it is 2 am and you don't even realize how much time has passed, it becomes an escape to reality.
Johnny Anonymous is what drew my attention here. I joined 4 days before the BP tragedy, so I got ushered in by way of multiple perspectives and numerous sourcing. Then, when I signed up and got the full deal with avatars and features, I really became hooked.
I have learned SO much here, and have quelled many of my own personal fears by seeing the subjects run thru the ats mill, which is a relief because at one point, I believed most of the conspiratorial hype I ran across, with no reference for comparison.

I think some lurkers, like myself, felt a little intimidated by the intellectual expressions and criticism here, but if you can check your ego enough to learn something, you certainly will learn!
I also enjoy the friendships and collaboration here.

I was trying to explain to a friend why I dug ATS so much, and it is because we have members on most continents reporting news/events before they it MSM. Then we get a chance to weigh in ourselves as well as watch a subject get scrutinized, forming a broader and more accurate picture. ATS is very unique and the way it was designed makes it that much more enjoyable to go thru. Thanks owners, admins, mods and members for that.
