OK time for a positive contribution for the ATS ET/UFO forum...

Everyone who knows their UFO stuff will know of the Betty and Barney Hill Contact/Abduction case, but have you ever seen this interview!?

Legendary abductee Betty Hill is interviewed by New England folklorist John Horrigan in October of 1999. This interview, conducted at Betty's home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, was thought to be lost to posterity until Horrigan discovered the tape in his attic in October of 2009. For more information on this event, considered by many to be the first publicized alien abduction, see the entry here: en.wikipedia.org... In this segment, Betty describes her alleged encounter with extraterrestrials (along with her husband Barney) on the evening of September 19th-20th, 1961. This is part 1 of 10

Thanks! I like how she dispels the negative connotations or myths that never happened to her during the encounter...

Thanks I don't think I've seen this, but shouldn't it now be called the "found" interview? How a guy loses his own tape in his own attic is beyond me anyway, but in any case.....

Did you hear the part at about 5:25 when she said the creatures were "a form of human being", and not like the "grays" Horrigan is asking about? That caught me by surprise! All this time I thought they were supposed to be some kind of alien and not a form of human being.

Just heard the first 2 minutes. He sounds just like Dan Aykroyd.

I had the pleasure of meeting Betty Hill in 2002. She was very nice and quite sincere even though I got the impression she was tired of talking about her event. Of course, she was an elderly woman and was probably just tired of life in general.

Good find OP. Never saw this!

Edit to change 2003 to, 2002

Yes and she shows a model of one in part III - looks kind of Japanese.

The lost thing happened to a well educated UFO contact regression specialist called Dolores Cannon, that also said "they" *points out there* hide certain information they give, so that specific information is released when the time is right...

Fascinating stuff too...

Lost? Anyway.....this doesn't change anything, really. It doesn't shed light on the myriad facts that really makes somebody put this case into the trash bin.

and there you go...

I post this 100+ minute video at 10:47 PM...

...and without watching the video through you chime in at 11:27 PM and say that?

Can you show any positive contributions to the UFO/ET forum you have made for just once?

The Hills have always referred to them as Humanoids. I think we made them into Greys.

Maybe....every generation (with their unevolved and limited understanding of extraordinary things) recount their experiences the best they can and relates them to 'things' they know of.

I was surprised to re-hear her say the aliens spoke to her.
Now, again, maybe because telepathy wasn't too well-known (or at least spoken about) amongst the common-man, she just assumed they spoke opposed to, telepathically communicating.

Who knows.

But I do feel she and her husband were very sincere and had way too much to loose by making this up. After all, they were an inter-racial couple and the last thing, back in 1961-65 was to draw attention on themselves.

Maybe she doesn't know what humanoid is. But I knew she thought they were humanoid, but "humanoid" means something different to me (there could be alien humanoids, I doubt it but it's possible) than "human being" which sounds very earthly.

Could she have been abducted by Japanese? It will take me a while to watch the rest of it, it's quite long.

Can you recommend which episode is the best to watch? I have to rip vids to hard-drive before watching which makes me picky! I've got the first one ready for later. Cheers

I do the same Kandinsky. I rip the mp4's and then burn them to DVD. Image quality and lip syncing is terrible though. I hope this gets a proper release if it hasn't already. I'll certainly buy it. I first read the interrupted journey more than 20 years ago so it's always held my fascination.

I'm uncertain as to how much relevance my reply has within this thread (In light of the scornful remarks made to me by a moderator regarding sharing or not sharing anything of use) but star and flag for sure, nice find!!!

Important stuff for sure!

Getting the story straight from the metaphorical horse's mouth certainly beats someone else's interpretations of the story.

I'll do the full viewing later as it's getting late here - but again wZn nice find!!

Hmm. I believe you should watch it all - why skip any parts? If you want to learn and see if these kind of contacts are real you should watch every last drop. That's what I do! Sometimes you have to go through some tedious, boring, long, dialogues only to find the real essence hidden away somewhere within these kind of interviews.

I have done this with everyone I have watched - and there lies the learning about ETs/UFOs - and overtime you get good at sorting the real stuff from the not so real.

One thing I tell everyone i know that 'wants to know' - you must do your own research and thinking (and feeling) (as I'm sure most here do) - and then form your own opinion/s.

I haven't watched this yet, but this is still one of the best cases IMO. The fact that she was able to map out the Zeta Reticuli system and include a star that astronomers didn't even know existed until a decade later is irreputable evidence as far as I'm concerned.

This case is the real deal imo. Among many others.

It's interesting listening to Betty Hill now. It's as if a thousand years have passed and we're getting an account from some cave-person. I say that in all due respect for I liked her very much.

But, she's too conclusive in her theories. She puts all UFOs, their occupants and/or abductees under one umbrella sort to speak.

I'm not sure if that's due to her being of the older generation (where they're a little more cut and dry/closed minded) or.....we've really opened up our minds to this phenomenon a lot more in the past 10 years.

Some of the things she says are:

*There are no Mother-ships.....they're just a bunch of car-sized UFOs attached to one another (pilots and civilians claiming to see a single solid object 5-miles long are all mistaking?)

*If you've been abducted.....no need to get hypnosis because you will remember (I guess I.....and a miilion others haven't waited long enough. Mine was 13 years ago)

*No one can walk up to an UFO. They'll either scare you away or they'll take off.

*Alien-occupants talk and listen (although her own clay model depicts them with no ears and little to no mouth)

*Everyone can see UFOs (not allowing for different light spectrums or even personal enlightenment levels)

It's things like that that make me feel sorry for her but moreso, concerned that some people may become as narrow-minded as Betty therefore, not allowing any room for growth (and to remain, opened minded)

Edit for poor-arse grammar.

This has happened a lot over the past decade or so, at least. It's a curious sociological effect. Aliens (or whatever) described by people have slowly morphed in their descriptions to the typical gray alien shape. Both the Hills and the Roswell aliens were never originally described as gray aliens, but rather as small humans, albeit with some unusual characteristics (such as "wrap-around" eyes).

Being more human in appearance certainly points toward these creatures as possibly being time travelers rather than far-away, extraterrestrial-type aliens.
