Never in all my years running around on this pathetic spit of dirt orbiting a sub par star have I ever witnessed a nation so wholly divided. The extent of that division is not accidental, nor is it unplanned, it’s a purposeful division brought on by the people of that land.

Yes folks, this great nation is divided, but the ones that are dividing it aren’t the government, it isn’t the proverbial powers that be, it’s the people themselves. Long forgotten are the things that make this country great, long gone are the things that made this country the country that people all over the world yearned to go to, to breathe in the free air of liberty. People now want to extinguish the lamp of liberty, they want to rip from the base of the statue of liberty the plaque that reads:

"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Instead they want to put up a no vacancy sign. Instead they want to put up a wall, a great wall, a new Berlin wall. These people want an iron curtain not unlike that of the old soviet union. They even want to rid us all of our liberties to achieve this goal.

A cancer is in our midst, a cancer known as hate. A cancer that has a cure, but the people reject that cure off hand. This cancer of prejudice, of bigotry, of racism, is spewed not from our government but by the people themselves. They spew this because they say this is not the country they remember. They spew this hate because they feel lost in a world they no longer understand.

They see things they hate everywhere, they have fallen victim to it’s spell. They see a President elected by the people, and they say in a loud shrill Russian accent “He is not the president, he is from Kenya!” But when you ask them for their proof of this claim, all they have to say is that he is a Communist, a Demon, a Socialist, a Muslim, a Liberal, a Fascist, so many names but no proof.

They say that those that We the People have elected are working against us, they say that they ram bills down our throats against the people’s will. When you ask them if they speak for you, they cry again “Traitors!” and threaten these people with harm.

They want a Revolution in this country, a revolution that will not come by them, they disparately want to kill their fellow Americans. Reviving that old saying of “the south will rise again” they project their fear onto the American landscape. Lincoln said once, a house divided can not stand, and these people are purposely dividing that house, offering no solutions, they don’t want these problems solved, they instead want blood. Blood for the crime of a nation evolving. This nation will evolve if not it will die. But these people would rather see this nation dead than allow that evolution to happen.

They trot out the declaration of independence for show, they love to listen to themselves on their soap box demanding a call to arms, demanding that their brothers fight amongst themselves. Because that fighting releases them from the obligation each and every one of us have to make this country the best country on earth. It is our responsibility to make this nation the best nation on earth it is WE THE PEOPLE that are this nation and WE THE PEOPLE that are responsible for making this country the great free nation that it is.

You cannot make a free nation with hate, you cannot make a free nation with fear, you cannot make a free nation by denying liberty.

You make a free nation by embracing your fellow man, you make a free nation by welcoming new cultures into it, you make a free nation not by blaming the government but taking that government which has always been your government back. You make a free nation by telling those that you elect that it is your will that they work for you, that you want this nation to be about freedom, about inclusivity about opportunity and about denying hate.

I say deny hate, I say deny those people who would reject inclusivity, I say deny those that would put up walls, I say deny those that would limit our freedom out of fear. They aren’t representative of America, they aren’t representative of freedom, they aren’t representative of liberty, they are the destroyers of these true values that this country was built on.

Deny those that would overthrow this government through violence, ask them what they would do afterwords. Ask them specifically what they would change, find out what they would do.

I say deny the greedy, I say deny those that would be so selfish they would rather see people die than to help them. Deny those that would deny others opportunity.

Deny those that would hide behind buzz words, that stereotype an entire group of people, deny them of the pleasure of destroying liberty in order to exclude other humans from our nation.

It is We the People not We the Citizen.

That is the most passionate and lucid phrasing of a sentiment that many of us have been trying to express that I have heard so far! Kudos Sir.

Even if I did find myself reading the entire text of it, silently, as if Groucho Marx were narrating it!

That's the strangest reply I've ever heard!

Thank you, something that I had to get off my chest.

It is however your opinion and I do not agree with all that you say,
but then in the spririt with which it was written I hope you accept a similar spirit in debate..

Not to sidetrack, but all of your posts play out, in my head, with Groucho's voice, due to your avatar! Surely it can't be just me!

It just isn't feasible for me to help everyone.

Would I rather see an African starve than rob an American to give money to the African - why yes, yes I would.

Would you rather rob Americans to feed Africans? --you probably would. Do you support foreign aid?

It is We the People not We the Citizen.

That is the usual reasoning behind the end justifies the means.

Our country was formed for the protection of the INDIVIDUAL, not the collective.

For ONE purpose and ONE purpose only, the power HAS to reside in the individual. Because tyranny always lays in power. If the power resides in the individual, wrongs can be stopped by the jury of one's peers.

If the power resides in the government, that is where TYRANNY resides.

Collectivists will always show their true colors.

As Mao stated, the power resides in the barrel of a gun. Just as government contemplates what is good for the collective, does not mean they have the individual in mind.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged.

I want the power in the hands of the PEOPLE, not the other way around.

I can understand, and that's not exactly what I was talking about, more closer to home. I am talking about those that say that welfare and foodstamps and unemployment should be cut off.

I disagree, I feel that it is the collective that determines flow of society. A drop of water cannot do much, but a river can carve great canyons.

That's partially why I say deny the greedy. That person in fact is a prime example of that statement.

I know that people are against welfare for corporations and calling for that to be cut off. People are calling for unemployment benefits not to be extended again, but who is calling for people to get kicked off of welfare? Not many people at all.

Forty million people are on foodstamps, who is calling for them to be starved?

I totally agree..Now how do "We The People" accomplish this without fighting our fellow man who still stands by a rogue Goverment?

You would be surprised, read the political madness forum for a while and you will see that there is a sizable part of the population that is all for taking away everything from people who have nothing.

Yes well I say everyone is only a few days starvation away from violent revolution.

I would argue that the most dangerous person is the person that has nothing to loose.

Sadly everyone has an opinion but some truly stink. Hate has replaced political debate and even political ideology.

We the People have to in my opinion stop the cycle of voting people in office that have been there for decades, we have to hold these people accountable and constantly be involved with our government.

Reject the richest candidates, research and reject those that take money from groups. Any group, even if you agree with that group, reject the greed.

Yes, and the 5% enlightened ones may do that...
The other 95% are caught up in the tens of millions spent in promoting these crooks...Its a very slow process but many more are waking up..
Maybe too late though...

It's never too late, it will never be too late. Real change for the better can happen, and yes, while it's a slow process, the end result of liberty and freedom is of course worth it.

But I say do it without the hate. Don't exclude people, don't alienate people, don't use violence to promote freedom.

I'm sure you have noticed most of the hate and violence is started by the MSM, divide and conquer....

Most people don't even know who they hate till CNN tells them

I shouldn't laugh, that is seriously the truth IMO..
