Breaking: Oil washes up, on Brazil beach

Just following on from my post above......

I'm no oceanographer and I do not really have a clue about the curretns etc etc however i was wondering if....

If the GoM leak caused a large release of oil and methane gas at a deep level, the oil has risen and moved around at all levels but did the methane ?
Is is still not a gas, could it have altered temperatures at a deeper level which therefore could have Affected the equilibrium in the seas and possibly altered or effected deep sea currents which we do not yet know about.....?

Purely speculation and fiction but would that affect flows of currents and therefore cause other unforseen issues ???
