Analysis: Pakistan floods, Russia heat match climate trends

www.globalpost.com

OSLO (Reuters) - Devastating floods in Pakistan and Russia's heat wave match projected trends of ever more extremes caused by global warming even though it is impossible to blame mankind for single severe weather events, scientists said.

This year is on track to be the warmest since reliable temperature records began in the mid-19th century, beating 1998, mainly due to a build-up of greenhouse gases from fossil fuels, according to the U.N.'s World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

Is this another ploy to support the failed Climategate ideology?

Could the weather conditions in the affected countries be engineered by HAARP or is it just another sign of the end times?

Anyway, greenhouse gases are not to blame.

Global warming has been debunked; it's just a natural cycle of average temperature changes and fluctuations.

This "climategate" is nothing more than old e-mails with quotes taken out of context by people who have no understanding of anything.

No and no.

it's just a natural cycle of average temperature changes and fluctuations.

The 1500 year cycles, known as Dansgaard-Oeschger events, are localized to the northern hemisphere and accompanied with cooling in the southern hemisphere. In contrast, current global warming is occuring in both hemispheres and particularly throughout the world's oceans, indicating a significant energy imbalance.

Natural climate change in the past proves that climate is sensitive to an energy imbalance. If the planet accumulates heat, global temperatures will go up. Currently, CO2 is imposing an energy imbalance due to the enhanced greenhouse effect. Past climate change actually provides evidence for our climate's sensitivity to CO2.
