NASA Deletes Suspicious Photos From Archive

I've been doing some research on the famous "Earthrise" photo by Apollo 8. I've found some anomalies as reported by John Lear, and I also found a couple others. So anyway, yesterday I posted my article on my website. Today I find out that image ISD_highres_AS11_AS11-44-6552.TIF had been deleted from the Johnson Space Center Image Archive. On top of that the AS11 series images associated with it were also modified today and yesterday. So I emailed two curators on the website concerning the deletion. I received no response, but shortly after sending the emails, the image reappeared on the JCS archive. Only it shows as being modified today. I took screen shots of all this strange behavior. Something VERY odd is going on that archive.

There's nothing odd with new scans or edits being made. Our technology is improving all the time, so occasionally there's an opportunity to re-scan and improve the old photos.
