We've learned that the Arizona police are arresting illegals. Regardless of what Washington has to say.

We've learned that it is still not legal for gays to marry in California. Judge Vaughan Walker has delayed any attempt at change in the California law.

Isn't politics a lot of fun?

That's how America's always been. The Jim Crow Laws and the de segregation of schools are just a couple of examples of how court orders have been ignored before.

We've learned that when a majority of a State's citizen's vote in favor of a law, it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

That's how democracy works here in America.

The illegals are still breaking the law......yup they get arrested. It's illegal for homosexuals to marry in California, wow 1 judge can't change that. Seems the laws work..........in Az. the federal government has failed at protecting the state, following the law and arresting criminals is a part of the police officers job description....how can you have a problem with that?

In these two instances what court orders are being ignored? Just more political grandstanding by insinuating that anything different should be done.

We've learned that America is still a place where human beings are treated as such, regardless of the color of their skin or their sexual preference.

I don't mean to say that the orders are being ignored today. Back in the day peeps in the south just kept goin business as usual. Of course today that wouldn't fly. And I am in no way trying to say that nothing should be done, of course something should be done but its more probable that nothing will be done. Atleast not for a while.

As an Arizona, I'm wondering what specific incident you are talking about?

As an FYI - Arizona LEO's were rounding up illegals long before this law was even envisioned. That's why the law was proposed. There is a point where Arizona LEO's reach a stalemate and it becomes the jurisdiction of ICE. Unfortunately, ICE instructs LEO's to "just let them go" and the state was fed up with their incompetence. Besides, most are arrested on actual charges having nothing to do with immigration (identity theft, fleeing the scene, drugs, etc.). Those detained at the scene, but not charged with any crimes are the ones that ICE rufuses to process and the LEO's have to let go. The law was never meant to target people walking down the street.

after googling katy perry im going to just go ahead and pat myself on the back for not knowing who she was.

As far as arizona , i see nothing wrong with trying to Find ILLEGAL aliens,

As far as gay rights in california, Give them thier equality and lets be done with it already. Why it should matter to me, or anyone else what sex they choose to be there Lifepartner and why they shouldnt be afforded a legal right to do so is beyond my comprehension.

Respectfully,

~meathead

You're pretty much right on that. Border Patrol agents have been hot on the trail.

Problem is, there are too many illegals to corral. Gov. Jan Brewer pulled a smart one making an annoucnment that went state wide. Scared a lot of illegals into packing their bags to move to California.

California has lots of land, plenty of room to accomodate a few million illegals from other states.

The liberal socialist media fell into Jan Brewer's trap to help the Governor with her overall plan. Al Sharpton and his crew unwittingly played the foil in helping illegals pack up and skiddadle.

Every state has to take care of their own problems. Now it's AG Ken Cuccinelli of Viginia leading the parade to ignore the ACLU's saber rattling. It's getting more the norm that states are calling the Fed's bluff. You want to come into our state to tell us how to run our business? Well, c'mon down, boys.

The truth be told, the majority of Fed Agents are sympathetic to the states. If they are ordered to Arizona or Virginia, they will travel in extra sl-mo and do nothing when they finally arrive.

No big deal.

Latino kids say they don't like being American. A sad video. You should watch it. So nihilistic.

What? Did I read that correctly? While I appreciate the word play, I'm shocked by the statement.

How did a moderator not see this?
