Ok this has to be one of the most craziest things I have ever seen. Ok I am lying people but its still weird. If this was my spider crab it would have done it while I was sleeping. Enjoy.

That looks extremely difficult, especially with those long limbs! Wow.

I just want to know: does it make good sushi? It looks delicious just like that, maybe with some spicy sauce.

S&F for you! Thanks for posting one of the most interesting videos I have seen for a long time. I must say though, it looks extremely painful. I wonder if it is, or if this crab just has some extreme dexterity?

I've never seen that before, absolutely crazy. It's just that time in its life when it's tired of being shy and "coming out of its shell".

How weird! I never knew crabs did that.

In my early teens i had a Tarantula. I woke up one morning and it looked like i had two. It had shed it's skin in the night.

That was just like watching my ex-girlfriends getting out of their skin tight jeans.

But a little less creepy

Does it... Does it eat it afterward, like a mammal might eat afterbirth?

i suppose it's just something we take for granted because we don't have exoskeletons, so we don't have to shed like that

my tarantula does the same thing per year, of course her exoskeleton is mainly built up on protein bonds, rather than the calcium build up that makes crustaceans exoskeletons, but the process is not much different i'm sure

you're right it is pretty weird, but it's absolutely amazing and beautiful when it happens, when any organism completes the process

here's one of a tarantula going through the same process (usually done upside down), not mine though just some youtuber

It is a nice change from the end of the world threads.

Very interesting, first time I see that happening.

So does this prove that multicellular mitosis could be true for some species way out there in space for asexual reproduction?
