For too long, we've worked under the idea that nobody would ever do anything, unless it's for profit. Nobody would ever help anybody else, because
without a profit motive, that would be socialism. Nobody would ever give more than they take in, because humans are driven by greed.
It's just not true. Capitalism and profits are fine, and we need them, but that's not all there is to life, or the economy. People are generous, and
they help one another, and it's about time we recognize that our way of life shouldn't be driven only by the principles of greed and predatory
business practices.
We should work towards an ideal civilization, even if that steps on the foot of some billionaire, or corporation, which wouldn't even be satisfied
with owning the whole world -- they'd start buying up parts of the moon or mars. Or try to patent the sun..
There is such a thing as collective interests. It's not all about being the biggest shark in the ocean, while treating every other person as a little
fish.
