Hi dutch, do take the time to listen to Dr. Deagle who suggests we

evacuate Florida this summer starting in July.

www.fourwinds10.com...

Remember everyone has their own opinion but we all must use common

sense. I too live in Florida on the West Coast and if what Dr. Deagle says is

coming the West Coast would be hit first and the hardest. ^Y^

I empathize with these coastal residents. My concern of attempting evacuation during this storm is the crude being washed / sprayed onto roads. How do you drive through that oil slick.

Secondly, is this crude going to outgass flammable fumes as it drys? These questions alone would make me leave and watch the answers appear from afar.

Good Luck.

I wasn't planning on bringing my laptop with me in my survival kit, tbh. But i'd put anything i'd need on a flashdrive.

You're right, I don't have too much to spend... How much would an average BOB cost, for all nescessary supplies? Ballpark figures, no need for super accurate guesses.

Not alot since you're a scavenger now and have plenty of time for preparation..

The backpack and survival knife 50-60 USD dollars top.....Go to a sporting goods store first though and see what size pack your body frame can support. Use that info and buy pack from that.......Bigger isn't always better

Actually, I do!

If we have to evacuate and you want to stay behind, you're free to party on my lanai.

Should my party theme be for Hurricane, Tsunami, Landslide, or Methane Cloud?

I am going to be eating blueberry pancakes and working on a serious tan while you guys are playing Rambo...out in the woods getting eaten by mosquitoes and hunting down lizards for food!

Really

So do own a centrifuge machine to separate the oil from the contaminated water? What will you drink rainfall? What will you eat?

You'll die!

Darwins natural selection at work!

also those blueberry pancakes will have gone bad since no power for the refrigerator!

Side info having to deal with my parents, but how reputable is Lindsey Williams?

I tried showing her part of a video with him talking about the crisis and she luled. Said she would believe "an armadillo" before this man.

Is he honestly that bad?

And what other videos could I show her that could possibly persuade her?

What's that got to do with the price of eggs in China?

uh...duh! I will have a whole pool full of water. Anyone who comes to my party best not pee in the pool!

All the rations that you all stocked up on earlier that you can't take with you now!

My point is: Stop worrying about all this. Everyone will be facing the same dilemma whatever happens. The fear mongers are out full force. Don't buy into it. Each day has enough problems of it's own without driving yourself nuts speculating on what disaster tomorrow may bring. The problems you may face if you run could be worse than what might happen if you stay. Take a deep breath and find some calmness. Face the fear and ask 'what's the worse that could happen'? Then, come to terms with your fears. I would not want to go without my loved ones. If something dire did happen, I would want to be with those I love, to comfort and support them and reaffirm what means the most in life.

I have emailed a few relatives that live on the coast of Texas too about this and the dangers of corexit...strange I have not heard back from them also....conspiracy??? They always repond..ummm

cheers

I too contacted friends in Georgia, Florida, and Texas. Georgia feels fine as they are but did take the time to visit the Manatees in Wakulla to say Farewell. Florida wrote back to say they are camping on the beach every day until they are either escorted or retrieved. Sadly, Texas hasn't written back and I half feel too that I might have a bit of a label now for my concerns. Oh well I tried.

To the OP, I say run like the wind, 2012 (Cumulative Calamities of what ever nature) is going to come whether we like it or not, I say let's be survivors so we can overcome such atrocities to our Mother Earth. My prayers are with all for a safe journey from this nightmare. If and when the actual masses wake up there will be no more time; use what ever monies you have and buy yourself a load of nutrition bars, get to a corner with a sign "Bugging out Please Help" and you will be surprised at how many folks are doing the same thing. You might get farther than you thought and once you get there you will likely find good folks to help. Your life is the most valuable possession you own!

Good luck and post soon

If suddenly you notice birds dropping from the air and you no longer have any insects around you, that should also be a clue.

Cripes... I just now noticed outside on my deck, there are NO insects beating themselves against the outside light like every other night! We've had more insects this summer than I can remember having, but not tonight. Did they all just up and migrate at once??? I live in SC. Just posted in another thread that we get our weather systems from the gulf (usually) and lately there has been an odd chemical-like smell in the air. Hmmm...

I don't live in the GOM! so there's that and i wouldn't let myself fall into a trap by waiting until the end nor would I try waiting it out at an abandoned home until the food supply runs out. Someone's liable to come around in rip your fantasy land down and either turn you into a sexual slave or shoot you.

and if i was out in the bush I would have bottled water and per drinking rainwater a homemade charcoal distillery and/or heat boil method!

Althea child you forget the pool will be contaminated with hurricane petrol water! So you need a centrifuge!

hahahahahaha you'll definitely die even in a little disaster, roving gangs will pass you around as a bartering tool.

I'd say first sign of illness I'd leave for at least a week and see if it clears up.. if you can determine that its environmental. then stay the heck out of there because this isn't getting any better its just growing every single day. The spill is still flowing the dispersant is still being dumped etc..

You got to make the call but, your dealing with your health, you can replace material items you cant replace your lungs etc..

??
The only thing you can do is impeach Obama he's done so many things already that deserve this, when the RW's fail will you do this then??? Probably not!

Oh and I almost forget you need weapons because these crooked people you call politicians are not just handing out the keys for the kingdom.

ALL those troops spread around the world could really be used in the GULF NO? Let other people worry about their problems and don't think about 911 BP and America created something far worse with the Macondo blow-out!

Well,I would listen to your parents.

They seem to be reasonable adults and since you have already stated you are a child that would be your best recourse in the situation.

Orlando is a long way from the coast.

The prudent thing (channeling G HW Bush here... lol) is to be prepared. I'm not freaking out quite yet, but I am VERY concerned and am aware of what a cluster**** of destruction it could turn into.

1. Have supplies ready to leave within one hour of decision to do so.
2. Water filtration and / or boil and collect tools
3. 2 methods of creating fire
4. a good pack
5. a knife (pocket saws are very useful as well)
6. 1 change of clothes.
7. necessary medicines, I usually like to have enough to cover 3 months. A small bag of corn starch for blistering. if you gotta walk lots and lots, you'll want some. anti-fungal is also important.
8. twine
9. non-perishable food. Which ones depends if you will be on foot or transportation.
10. small instrument and / or writing drawing materials. Mental stability is a key to survival.
11. something warm to layer the wardrobe. water can cause hypothermia at remarkably high temperatures.

It's not an easy decision to make even though you are more awake and in tune than your parents. Most people would not make it out if events begin to spiral into chaos. What you can do now is to check with local garage sales in your area, looking for used camping equipment, etc and also offering to do odd jobs (mowing, pulling weeds, etc) to earn some $ for yourself. Do the kmart applications if you must to appease your mother but I don't see you donning a blue vest or what ever they are wearing there these days.

I've got more than I need in terms of gear and if there are some things you are having a hard time getting, send me a U2U and I'll see what I can do. Distance is going to be more important for you than the contents of your bag. Where would you go? What will you do when you get there? Perhaps you could make a deal with your parents to do work around the house, etc in exchange for them getting you a class or two at the Tracker School in NJ. That would get you out of the area for a while and you would learn much more than you would in that stupid blue vest at the Kamapart. If they don't want to support you then sell what ever you can such as video games, etc that will do you no good in terms of survival.
