Jordanian newspaper reported that the Turkish security apparatus was able to thwart an assassination attempt on Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and noted that the lines of inquiry lead to the involvement of the Israeli intelligence agency "Mossad."

Accused Mossad assassination attempt on Erdogan

I'm not sure what to think about this yet. I would prefer something more official, but this article is claiming the Mossad had an attempt on Prime Minister Erdogan's life. I'm not sure what the motivation would be, but if true we should find out soon.

Good Find!

Your link not working:Assasssination Attempt

ISTANBUL, (PIC)– Turkish media revealed on Friday that an electronic mail was found at the personal computer of one of the members of the secret Ergenekon organization exposing an Israeli Mossad scheme to kill Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the indictment list tabled by the Turkish prosecution against the organization, an Israeli journalist sent an e-mail to a number of the organization’s figures accused in the (thwarted) coup attempt against the Erdogan government, informing them that the Israeli Mosaad was prepared to assassinate Erdogan.

Turkish press sources said that the journalist informed the Ergenekon members that they were supporting Mr. Dugo against the “Islamist terrorist” Erdogan, and that he informed them of the Mossad chief Meir Dagan’s coordination with Mr. Dugo in this regard. He also said that a Mossad team was awaiting the green light from Mr. Dugo to carry out the mission.

The Turkish sources added that Mr. Dugo, whose name was mentioned in the e-mail, could be Turkish Labor Party head Dugo Prinitchek, who is suspected of leading the secret organization.

A Turkish paper said last month that Israel was striving hard to topple and oust the government of Erdogan because of its support for the Palestinian cause.

A couple of months ago, Erdogan angrily left the Davos conference after he engaged Israeli president Shimon Peres in heated arguments over Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians in Gaza Strip, in which the emcee refused to give him chance to refute Peres’ lies .

The Turkish organization was discovered in 2007 after Turkish security agencies found a weapon cache in a suburb in Istanbul that led to arresting 86 members of the group who were put on trial for planning to oust the elected Turkish government.

Two retired military generals were leading the organization that, according to the Turkish sources, has close contacts with the Israeli intelligence.

Good that they failed the attempt.

It could have been Mossad, or it might have been a false flag event to stir up greater anti-Isreali feeling within the muslim community. Or it could have been just a domestic terrorist event. Either way, it'll be interesting to see how this pans out over the next few weeks.

How convenient for the Turkish press to discover that plot right after the flotilla raid.

Couldn't be any funny business by the editors.
