Your answer is Libertarian conservative, you are quite similar to Ron Paul.

There is really nothing wrong with that question. It is not asking if you think we currently have a free market, only whether you think it is the most efficient at allocating resources.
Pretty straightforward.

Actually, there is something wrong with the question. These tests are an attempt to lump you into a category based on your feelings, thoughts, etc. with other people who feel the same way. It is a "grouping" exercise.

While it WOULD be correct to lump me into a category with people who understood what a free market was intended to be, those who admired its delightful mimicry of the well tested and efficient natural selective forces honed by nature over billions of years........................it would not be accurate to lump me into a category with those who understand neither natural selection nor a truly free market who blindly chant the mantra because some talk radio personality tells them they should.

Just sayin'.

Well of course it is an attempt to "lump" you into a category, or more specifically, a quadrant.
It is not a comprehensive assessment of your individuality.
It is a political assessment. The questions may not be perfect, but they do give an indication of which way you lean, generally, how you view government and the individual.
I did not see how this was advertised as being anything other than that.

Stewie, I do appreciate your interest in this exam, and in my dilemma over how to answer that question. We will just have to agree to disagree on whether or not there is a pat answer to that question that tells anyone anything meaningful about which group I would belong in.

Perhaps it is because you dont know me, but I do know me, and I can appreciate fully the ridiculousness of both me and Rush Limbaugh or some other "conservative" talking head answering that question in the same way. Their version of a free market is almost the antithesis of Adam Smiths, and was what my comment was about.

And it was just a comment, it was not intended to become a hijacking of this thread as I lectured on the finer points of test taking and the free market.

So, agree to disagree, and let the survey continue.

Understood.
For the record, I don't believe a test exists that could chart the individual and make any sort of comprehensive prediction based upon the result.

If they don't let you in the door, YOU don't care!

That is how I read your score.

Okay so I have decided to create my on small quiz to test what your political identity is. I will be using this map

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/d28b271173ec.png[/atsimg]

Which was created by the fine people of Politicalcompass.org.

I have designed my own questions, they are for people of all countries and is just a broad test of your beliefs. It is a different form of test so just follow the directions carefully. And I can't wait to hear your feedback!

I will ask a question, and you will have a scale to weigh your opinion. Your scale range is -10 to +10 , if you give an answer a -10 that means you Very strongly disagree with that statement, if you give an answer of +10 that means you Very strongly agree with that statement. An answer of 0 means no opinion or not important. You can choose any number between -10 to +10.

You can analyze the results yourself or ask me to analyze them for you, just post which ever you want (help or not) at the bottom of your post and I will respond ASAP.

When you are finished adding up your answers you divide them by 10. The map goes from Economic Right-Left, on the far right you have +10 and on the far left you have -10. Same goes for Social Up-Down, on the far top you have +10 and on the far bottom you have -10.

Example:

I have the answers on economic of; 5, -1, -2, 3, 5, 3, 2, 4, 1, 0 = 20 divided by 10 = 2.0

I have the answers on social of; -3, -2, -5, -8, -4, 0, 0, 1, 3, -2 = -20 divided by 10 = -2.0

That would give me a result of Economic = 2.0, Social = -2.0
