Found his explanation on this too.

Gen. David Petraeus explained that he must have gotten "dehydrated" after he appeared to pass out in the middle of a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing Tuesday.
The head of Central Command was in the midst of a dialogue with Arizona Sen. John McCain when he slumped over the witness table. Several officials gathered around Petraeus, who was able to stand up and walk out on his own.

So there you have it he must have been dehydrated sure he was

Thankyou

Looks to me like the guy has been putting in overtime and he needs a vacation for a bit??

Too bad our Congressmen/women never work that hard.

Patraeus had just finished telling McCain about tripling our forces in the region; then McCain thanks Patraeus, then starts in on that whole "sending the right message" and "arbitrary" timeline stuff. So, dehydrated or not it was at the very least ironic. Patraeus's spirit couldn't deal with hearing that same old mess again. Dude's spirit tried to leave his body

I don't buy his explanation of being dehydrated, in the tape it's as plain as day he just took a chug of iceberg water.

And ya lol McCain looked like he was having a stroke.

with all those medals on his chest,
I wonder if any of them were given
for acting ????

I think he'll be passed up at the Oscars
this year. It was a real bad performance.

It's crap like this that makes most people
distrusting of the government.

If he does it again, charge him with
obstruction of justice and a court martial
for delaying hearings. Even football games
have a delay of game penalty. Should also be
in court hearings as well.

Or better yet, just waterboard him til
he fesses up the truth.

He was just slipped a note stating that the $20,000 toilet seat and $9,000 hammer budget was cut by the Obama administration.

Some people react strangely when forced with having to tell the truth.

If he really is a person who faints that easily, it's time to retire!

The man is a four star general, and one of our greatest military strategists. He is not some bumbling politician, and deserves a bit of respect. He could very well have been poisoned, or have something seriously wrong with him.

You can drink water and still be dehydrated. Water alone does not sustain hydration.

Stress can do funky things to the body; the room could have been stuffy, etc.

To find conspiracy in the timing is just looking for something that is not there. He tried to come back but Senator Levin adjourned for the day. No conspiracy, refocus people.

To the OP, I know you did this in fun so I shall engage in that aspect

The general 'passed' out in attempts to hide the gigantic bout of flatuance that was about to ensue
