I don't think she was saying they were being "beheaded". I think she is saying that their lack of care in "raking up" the carcasses is causing the heads to separate from the bodies".

I would think this would degrade the results of any studies done since, like with human bodies, you study the effects on the body and the brain. If they are separated from eachother, you can't be sure which heads go with which bodies.

(I'm laughing on the inside as I type this. Mismatched heads...lol. But seriously, it's a travesty. Poor birdies)

I can't see the gulf region bouncing back from this anytime soon. I hope I am wrong about that, but it doesn't look so goo now does it?
