WASHINGTON – Law enforcement agencies have arrested more than 2,200 people in a 22-month investigation targeting Mexican drug trafficking organizations in the United States, the Justice Department announced Thursday. The probe, called Project Deliverance, focused on the transportation networks that carry methamphetamine, coc aine, heroin and marijuana into the United States, with return trips of drug proceeds and weapons. Attorney General Eric Holder told a news conference the initiative struck a significant blow against the cartels, but called it "just one battle in what is an ongoing war." Over 400 of the more than 2,200 arrests were made Wednesday.

Holder stated "this is just one battle in what is an ongoing war." How is it that we are continuing to ramp up on this uneffective "War on Drugs" when Obama campaigned on reforming this? Haven't we learned that this is not an effective method?

It disturbs me that Holder also stated that many of the arrested where not in fact "Cartel" members but rather Americans who are supporting these "Cartels" by selling the drugs. Uhh, duh! Everyone and their momma who are using drugs is technically "supporting" these "Cartels" but that doesn't mean they work for them! What do ya'll think?

LOL, that's funny cuz I bet none of the PO's who have been caught dealing 100's of thousands of dollars worth of drugs have ever been considered "working for the cartels" but some poor street level dealer on the Southside of Chicago making a few hundred a day at best is! C'mon son!
