I just got a call from microsoft ( from india the ph number is 0019476632176 ) saying that they were randomly calling microsoft users to help with micro soft operating problems ( even though I never registard with micro soft and nrver registard my pc with any one I even moved home and changed my phone number so how did they know who I was and get my phone number like I said I never give pout my home phone number online he ask me to press the windows button and R at the same time then type eventwvr and tell him what happend I ask him how he got my phone number and how he knew my name he was kinda vauge and rambled on about I regestard with micro soft ( as I stated I never did ) so I hung up has any one else got this call please let me know ( oh and please for give any spelling errors)

they don't have my number.

I had some weird explorer crashes though yesterday that I never encountered before in the 6 years I am running this installation.

I did some searching about this.

Apparantly, it's a scam to get you to buy services that you don't want or need.

These calls aren't from Microsoft either.

All eventwvr.exe does is shows your event log on your computer.

Just hang up on them if you get a call like this.

so, they wanted to show him, he has problems on event viewer. Supper, there are always errors, also on a fine working system, it's just normal. Then they will say: "For only 20 Dollars/Month we will fix you problems" (with a Spyware/Zombiebot). LOL
